Welcome to the new format!

Just wanted to say that I love the new format.  For some reason the old one took forever to load on my computer so I didn't post as often as I would have liked.

The only bad thing is that I could not remember my password so I had to re-register.  So durangoamy is now AmyK which is fine.. I don't mind being a Puppy again!

OK so this will take some getting used to!
I'm going to try to figure out how to get my avatar on here now.

How do some of you get such large pictures for your avatars. I kept getting told my image was too large until it was practically the size of a postage stamp! The resolution on mine is lower than 72 dpi. How do you Big Avatar People do it?? [:)]

    Testing my signature...

Okay I'm here too. I was really not prepared for this! I am usually very resistant to change of any kind, but I am sure in a few weeks I will start to like the new format!

Should I keep trying to fix my avatar myself? I'm stumped though. I used to TEACH Photoshop at the University....and the server won't take my image. [sm=sad.gif]

    Jeano,

The image for your avatar must be 145 pixels square or smaller.  Looks like it only takes uploads from PCs as well (no Macs).

The profile picture must be 240 pixels square or smaller.

There's also a size limit but if the pics are the right pixels they will fit the size limit.

If you need help let me know.

I was having some problems finding the new forum, so I asked Jessie for help and her trusty nose led the way. Not directly, mind you; she led me down a few alleys to chase a few cats and gobble a partially eaten who-knows-how-old-it-is bologna sandwich, but we made it. Nice place![:)]

Just checking in to see if my avatar shows up.  Nice new look guys! :)

It takes uploads from Macs. You just have to use Internet Exploder. [:'(]

But I'm so happy to have figured it out. I thought I was going stupid or something.

Hey, this is the first thing I've found that wasn't "compatible" in YEARS. It's the fault of the programmer of the website (NOT Joel--rather, the person who wrote the code for the way the site functions--please keep clear on that--Joel is doing fabulously here).

Everywhere else I've been on the web in years and years has been fine. In fact, I can read and see the forum just fine with Safari, but some things don't work right, like notifications and the blinking icons denoting busy and new threads.

I regularly exchange graphics and text with PCs and have no problem. Files go back and forth just fine. Granted, I'm dealing with the work I do: writing, editing, web design. But even music files are now starting to go back and forth very easily. But I don't have to have MS Word to read Word files! I use ICWord, much smaller and all I need. [sm=clapping hands smiley.gif]

When I went to Gmail with IE, it said: "You will have a better Gmail experience if you used a supported browser." So the knife cuts both ways! Gmail loves Safari.

Oh, and we don't live in igloos in Alaska. (Since I'm educating people about common misconceptions today.) LOL [sm=lol.gif]
