What are You Happy/Grateful for Today?

    Reflection.

I am grateful that I wake each morning and still enjoy embracing a new day.

I am grateful for this forum, you all helped many people this year, myself included.

I am grateful for the support of my siblings and father. We could not have gotten this far had we not had each other.

I am grateful that I found a new passion to replace gardening. I will always have plants, but can no longer dedicate the time I did to vegetable gardening. I love my new hobby!

I am grateful I have a husband that understands I am wired differently than other people, and indulges my dorky weirdness.

I am grateful that I have never had to hide or mask who and what I am. I am grateful that others can now enjoy it as well, it was to long in coming.

I am grateful to the parents who indulged my antics in the grocery yesterday. Thank you for letting me play patty cake and to teach your child how to high 5 and down low while waiting in long lines. Your child is beautiful and may he live a long and healthy life.

Very grateful that I don't have H1N1, that ds and oh seem to be recovering from it, that L seems not to have it (Shea feeding pretty much constantly and seems tired, could be that my milk is holding it off.) and that we all just MIGHT be ok tomorrow to enjoy the festivities!

I'm grateful for my wonderful husband and children. I'm grateful for my wider family, my siblings, inlaws.... I'm grateful for the life and the lessons dad gave me. Im grateful for the heartstoppingly theoat achingly beautiful moment when my daughter slid out of me into my own hands. I'm grateful for the massive stack of gifts under our tree. I'm grateful that we have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. I'm grateful for some very special friends, here and IRL.

I am grateful to have a job, a job that the boss himself describes as permanent. I beat out many qualified applicants because I seemed to be the right fit for this company and willing to adapt to how they do things.

I am thankful that we still have the house, so far, and the utilities going, though sometimes, it's a matter of triage, which hot one do we put out first.

I am thankful for this forum and the family that we have here and the huge-o-mongous generosity we have here.

I am thankful to the people I know at a vocalist's forum, who have helped me so much in refining my abilities and giving unconditional support, including one, a guy from Greece, who got for me a real studio mic, stand, pop filter, cable, USB interface, and headphones so, that for once in my life, I can get me real voice recorded, even if it's just to improve on what I do. Something I would not get for myself with my lack of funds and stack of bills due.

This forum and that forum remind me of the movie, "Pay it Forward." We do for others what they cannot do for themselves. We do it not for glory or expectations of returns. We do it because it's the right thing to do.

I am blessed to know you people and (to borrow from Jack Nicholson) I am a better person for it. You guys help bring out the best in me. I know I was a bit of a sarcastic snot when I first got here but thanks to the patience of Job that you fine people have shown, I eventually got "potty-trained."

Today, I am grateful for the fantastic plow driver and property managers who cleared our driveway and walkways at home, and heated leather seats!!  aaahhh!!

My wife and I were walking through our regional shopping mall when she asked me if I wanted to get something.  I said "no".  That might change tomorrow, but at that time I had all I really needed and a lot of what I wanted.

My family is all healthy, employed, fed and housed.  My grandkids love me-even occasionally  hug me, and I have one more on the way.

My wife is planning her retirement.  Unless our economy really dumps, we have a good measure of security

    My wife still tolerates me.

On the 24th, we only had 5" of snow, and don't expect more until Wednesday.

I have a job I enjoy that is seasonal in nature.  It slows up when hunting starts, gets really slow when the roads are snowy, and is primarily outdoors all summer.  My boss is great.

This forum has given me a place to express myself.  As I read your posts, I learn more about your personalities and I have found that none of you are mean spirited.  When I get slapped down, its done nicely.  Sometimes firmly, but nicely.  Thank you for letting me stick my toe in the pool.

In the spirit of a dog forum, I am grateful for the dogs I have known, but especially Rags and Piper.  Rags taught me  that dogs have pride and dignity, and that patience is rewarded.  Piper is just a sweetheart , a hunters dream and a great companion.

First and foremost, every day I am thankful for my wonderful husband of over 29 years.  I can't explain how special he is.  I'm also thankful for his parents- not just because they are wonderful people who have treated me like a daughter from the day I met them 30 years ago.  But also for raising such a wonderful, caring son.  I'm thankful, too, for our two wonderful sons.  Oh, they may drive us crazy at times, but they're good, caring "kids".  And my family.  And the fur kid, too.  He's brough such joy to us.

Like Ron, I'm thankful we still have the house and are able to keep the bills paid.

We have many friends, both real and virtual that I am thankful for.

I'm thankful for the country we live in, and the freedoms we have.

And last, but not least, I'm thankful for all the members of the armed services.  Without them, we wouldn't have the freedoms we enjoy.

I am thankful that my parents are both still able to live at home and are able to enjoy the spirit of the season. While we don't always get along :-), we are there for each other to make sure we can get along in life. They've helped me a lot and now I'm thankful I can help them and treat them to those things they would consider excessive.

I'm thankful I have a job that more than pays my bills so I can help others who aren't as blessed right now. So many have helped me in my life when money was scarce, times were hard and my spirits were in the dumps. For them and the life lessons of living simply I've learned along the way, I am thankful. And as Doug said above, I can now pay it forward.

I'm thankful for all my island friends who will help each other (and a stranger) at a moment's notice. It's the kind of community I wish everyone had.

I'm thankful Sinbad picked us--what a love! And, I am thankful for the support of everyone here when Frisby was sick, when she died, and when Sinbad joined us. I have tons of cards decorating my house from people I've never met in person but whom I consider my friends-thank you! My colleagues and family know you as my "dog friends" :-)

I'm happy and grateful for a dear friend who've I've know half my life. We may both be terrible at keeping in touch but we always pick up right where we left off. We've had our ups and downs, but she's remained a dear friend to me. Friend actually seems too light of a word. My only wish for others is to have one friend like that in their own lives.
