Emma can SWIM!

    Emma can SWIM!

She just realized this, today. I sacrificed a frisbee. It wasn't intentionally sacrificed, but it was worth it. We have a pond, that's about an acre, square. It's shallow around the very edge, but very deep in the middle (it's spring fed). She's played in  the edge, a lot, and she likes drinking out of it, but I have not convinced her to swim, yet. Today, I floated the frisbee, upside down, in the pond. She went in, dunked the frisbee (like she does in her baby pool), then swam in a small circle looking for it. She jumped out, shook, lept back in, and swam around some more. I got a tennis ball, and she swam all over chasing that thing! She had a blast, and I'm sure it's far better for her joints than running and jumping, like she does. She couldn't get the tennis ball out of the water, LOL. It's a little too big, so it's still floating around the pond. I hope the catfish don't eat it!

Anyhow, when she got out, she barfed a bunch of water. I guess she swallowed it, chasing the ball. Is that... ok? Will she learn to stop doing that?

    Good for Emma!
Max barfs water sometimes. Actually, it's not really like when he throws up, it's more like he burps it up. I guess it's from drinking too much too fast, or swallowing water the wrong way. It doesn't seem to cause any problems, so I don't get too worried about it.

She usually barfs a little water at the beach, but she's never barfed pond water.... I'm guessing she just got too much, too. Like you said, it's not really barfing, it's just.... *cough cough water* LOL

    Way to go Emma!! [:D]

Dasher will barf up water sometimes when he drinks too much too fast. He tends to drink a lot in his baby pool.

Woohoo for Emma!  Romeo, loves to jump in and make a splash, I guess in the process he drinks water, comes back out, and like you said "cough, cough, water" and a look of: what was that? can I go in the water again? and he does it all over again.  My silly boy!

Sassy does that water barfing thing just about everytime she jumps in the pool.  First few times it scared me, but now I just worry about what the neighbors think [;)].  Yippee for Emma.  It sounds like she had a good time.
