I found this site and thought it was a great place. My name is Tammy and I am from Texas. I have 2 dogs and (atthe moment) 2 cats.
My dogs are Sandi 10 yr old Chow Border collie mix and I have 2 yr old Jasmine Shepherd mix. In December, I had to put down my 20 1/2 yr old cat. About 3 yrs ago, a stray cat came to my door and now he is our outdoor cat, Frank (I hate leaving cats outdoors but he does not know about the litter box so he goes in and out) Then last month, after I was stating that I missed my cat and want another indoor cat, a small black cat came to my door. He is very timid so we are working on him. Frank loves my dogs but this new one does not. During my 20 years of owning animals, I have become very knowledgable about animal health issues, but it was not my choice. I had stray cat that always had urinary tract issues, even though we feed him the right foods. He finally passed with cancer. My other cat had liver cancer and lived with it for about 4 years (Acemannan is a wonder drug)
My older dog had Hip Dysplasia and had the surergy, then she tore her ACL and we had that surgery. Now we are battling the arthritis, allergeries, weight issues, thyriod...my poor baby.
Sandi is the brown "fluffy" one, Jasmine is the black dog trying to look innocent, not! Frank is the white cat and Sebastian is my newly acquired black cat.
