Happy Gotcha Day, Evil, Rotten, Baby Girl

I cannot believe that it has been a year since Cher came into our lives. It seems like only yesterday that I was being dragged out to an animal control truck, by one of the vet techs, in hopes that I, or somebody that I knew, might take on a "project" puppy. The moment that I laid eyes on her, I was in love. I'm not sure how anyone falls for a stinky, mange covered puppy, but I managed to pull it off.

I will forever be thankful for the vet tech who introduced me to Cher. I walked out of the vet clinic, that day, a much richer person, than when I walked in. Cher has added so much joy to our lives. She's smart, sweet, & sassy, which every good dobergirl should be. I can't remember what our lives were like without her.

I thought that I would share pics of Cher's journey through her first year with us.

Awww...Cher. Happy Gotcha Day Sweetie! It has been a pure joy watching you grow from the scabby mess of a doberpup to the gorgeous lady you've become. Not just anyone could have pulled that off. You landed in the perfect household. Give your momma some big slobbery kisses and enjoy your day tomorrow. I hear its gonna be something special!

It's amazing to see how far Cher has come in just a year (though it's seemed like she's been there forever)! I wouldn't believe that the sad, sick puppy in the first picture was the beautiful, healthy dog in the last had I not seen it here.

I'm so glad she found you -- and Bevo decided to keep her! Happy Gotcha day!

Amanda -- this is still one of my all time favorite "stories" -- there IS life after demodex. it can be overcome. And the dog underneath all that stink and scab is so often such an AWESOME dog!!

I looked over those photos twice! I know I saw them when you first took her home and the progress pictures, but its still almost unbelievable the transformation! She's stunning and gotta love a bit a sass in your dogs =)

And, admittedly, this little narrative about her journey this past year made me tear up.

There's such a difference in her confidence from the day you got her until now. It's amazing. What a great dog.
