Uh oh I've really done it now...fallen in love

After sleeping on it....I sent an email to the rescue fostering this boy. Wish me luck I have butterflies.

    Shetland Sheepdog Mix....young male
Notes: Skipper is a sad rescue story with hope of a happy ending. When he arrived to his foster home he had a limp. After examination by a vet it was discovered that he had been shot at some point and the pellet had never been removed from his leg. It had been there too long for a successful surgery so he hopes about on his three good legs. He does not appear to be in any pain. He has learned to run and jump with the other legs and seems content. He now needs a loving family that will replace the hurtful past of neglect and pain with one of hugs and love. He is already neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is good with other dogs, cats and children. He weighs approximately 20 pounds and crate trained. His adoption fee is $150.00.

This pet is up to date with routine shots.
    This pet has been altered.

Only 20 pounds?  My little Kota is 23 pounds and a complete doll!  Your choice looks beautiful too!

Thanks again everybody... Ron ...loved the crossed paws....too cute and sweet!

Tashakota, 20 lbs yeah I know seems small considering my Jessie is 65 lbs . Maybe he just needs time to fill out. I understand he's been through a lot in addition to being shot.

I did get an email back this morning, and his foster mom seemed to really like my application and said she hopes it works because he "needs someone like you"[sm=blush.gif]  and she's hoping that he and my dog will get along. She didn't actually say " approved" but made every indication she feels thus far it's a very strong possible
good match. What comes next are the meetings; me and foster mom, me and Skipper , then my dog Jessie and Skipper. And they may want to do a home check she didn't say yet if they felt this would be necessary....long as they don't mind clutter and husky hair as condiments.....lol....She tells me he is a sweet unassuming little guy who gets along with her daughter's husky and 5 other dogs and a couple of cats....so far so good.

And I have a sense of peace and 'rightness" about Skipper....but, I keep an open mind so as not to be utterly crushed if it turns out the dogs hate each other or something....now just tell my heart that......
