So sad to say a breeder friend has passed

This evening Allen of Willwood Beagles, TX ;passed at home surrounded by his partner and many beloved friends, after a long battle with cancer. I met Allen only a couple of times but he ALWAYS had something nice and encouraging say to me. He LOVED Tucker, my puppy from my first litter and came by to eval him along with Jim. SUCH a quiet yet humorous gentleman. He is going to be sorely missed in the breed and by me. Sometimes you don't have to know someone "well" to know they were a truly "class" individual.

They are interring Allen's ashes with two of his beloved Beagles who also passed around the same time....so sad.

Must be tough to lose a good breeder. I have a special place in my heart for Beagles...I grew up with one named "Tally Ho." He lived to be almost 17 years old! He's at the Rainbow Bridge. Speaking of which...I guess some dogs found the person they were waiting for with his passing!

I would guess he has quite the welcoming committee at the Bridge.  RIP.

That's sad news, Gina.  The doggie world has lost a good man, it sounds.  On the lighter side, I'm picturing his welcome @ the Bridge.  He'll be knocked over & covered with kisses.  I can see the tails wagging like mad.  It's a nice picture.

Thanks all. Yes I am certain his welcoming committee at the Bridge was making all sorts of Beagle music.

It stormed here last night...the first rain we've had here in N.Texas for a while now...after a string of hot hot days. I like to think Allen decided we needed the rain so he had all those Beagles lift their legs and tinkle for us up there [;)]
