Greetings from Hawaii!

HAHA no worries, I've never been confused for a women before, so its a first!

Just imagine I'm 6'3" 230lbs and 6% BMI.  Oh, and imagine I'm a firefigher or construction worker.  Or whatever does it for ya...[;)]  So with 18,000 members there's only me and one other women from Hawaii?

**frowns** Just my luck, eh? [:D]

To the one other Hawaii person... "Hi!"

SORRY!!!  My bad!  I guess i just assumed because of the lack of  men here.  Oh and I have a few friends named Noel.  All girls.  How do you pronounce the masculine version?
    • Silver
Its pronounced the same... although I always thought it was spelled Noelle for women... dunno.  Noel... Noelle.  You can all me Suzy if it makes you feel better. [:D]  I should have some dog pictures up after work... than you all can look at the dog and not my name.  HAHA!

Welcome Noel and it makes me happy just to think about Hawaii.  My husband is Hawaiin (Maui) and we were married in Maui 4 years ago.  I've also been to Oahu 5 or 6 times and the big island once.  Next visit will be Kaui though.  I'm all for having an i-dog pow-wow but I'm pretty sure the quarantine restrictions would make it tough to bring our doggies right?

    Here ya go:

Welcome Noel, I actually went to jr high and high school with a guy named Noel.  He was on the hockey team and usually pretty nice, but you know what guys are like in jr high and high school!  [;)]  heheheheee

I'm Terri and from what I've heard there is one other gal in HI but never fear, the invasion will begin soon since we are on our way!  Just sent in the blood work last week and if we pass that we are free to leave anytime after the middle of July!  Yeah!!!  No quarantine and I get to take my dogs off the plane with me!!!!

So, since it's decided to take a group I-dog field trip to HI, we can all get the quarantine done "at home" and then take the dogs off the plane with us!!!

Hi Noel you lucky creature you!!!!!!!
My hubby and I were in Hawaii on a 15 day tour of 5 islands a few years ago.  We started in Waikiki, where I was kind of disappointed (except now looking back I sure wish I was there again) and saw tons of things such as the Culteral Center and Pearl Harber. Went on to Kauai, Maui, Hilo and the Big Island.
Oh man,,,,just think of the great time we had.    I didn't want to go in the end, it was a month after 9/11 and I was afraid to get on a plane. Took me about one day to realize I didn't want to come home!  Hawaii is truly Paradise!! Yours so lucky!
I was surprised (shocked) how many people they said that lived on the beach, I want to try it!!   LOL!
By the way, I love your pictures of your dog!!   And for some strange reason I knew Noel was a male!
    • Gold Top Dog
Hi Noel!  Welcome to i-dog!  Love Spooky and love his name.  What happened to the other dog you got in the parking lot that day?  (if you don't mind my asking).

Oh and in my head "Noel" is a guy's name - i.e.  Noel Gallagher...  I've never heard of a woman called Noel.
    • Silver
The other dog?  Her name is Hershey... it doesn't fit now but when she was a puppy she was half black and brown.  She eventually turned all black though... She's sittng next to Spooky in my picture!  [:D]   I should change their names to something that involves all their grey old dog hair now!

Haha I don't mind the name mismatch, you all can call me whatever...unless I run into one of you one day... haha or the one other Hawaii person lurking somewhere around the mountains!

Someone asked about Quarantine... its only a short time now... if at all, its a lot more relaxed if you have medical documentation relating to disease, shots, and rabies vaccinations that are current.
    • Gold Top Dog
One of my crew from a project last year was from Honduras and his name was Noe, the honduran equivalent of Noel.

You've only got 6% BMI? Sheesh, you're pretty much solid muscle. I've never had my BMI calculated. I just average 235 at 6' 6". I have the same waist size I did nin high school. But good for you. It must have taken some work to physically rehab and it sounds like you've gone above and beyond what the doctors expected.

Rock on, man. I was going to give you the surfer wave but they don't have that emoticon here.
    • Gold Top Dog
I would sooooooo love to go to Hawaii!!!  :)

Welcome Noel!  So is Hershey with you too in Hawaii?  You mention that Spooky is with you, did Hershey stay home with family?
    • Gold Top Dog
Noel,  how is HI for dog friendly things to do?
    • Silver
Its actually pretty good... I just walk my dogs around the block but there are lots of places that you can go, just bring a doggie bag.  Its a good place, I just wish there was more room in general.  If you all ever move/visit, be prepared to give up space in return for the warm trade winds..

So who is that other Hawaii person lurking on here?  What island are ya from, what do ya do, etc. etc..? [:D]
    • Gold Top Dog
Hey Noel, don't remember seeing ANY dogs running around anywhere in Hawaii when I was there. Here you see a stray here or there, but I remember remarking about the fact that we didn't see any over there. Wonder how come?

I don't think you have to worry about anyone lurking on this thread!  Honest!
    • Silver
Oh dyan I know no one's lurking on here. [:D]  I was just curious who the one other Hawaii person was!  I was really suprised that there wasn't more people seeing as this is a good outdoorsy place for pets.
