    looking for a dog name...

I am adopting a Pit Bull puppy who was rescued from Louisiana after Hurrican Katrina hit.  I'm looking for some cute names that have something to do with Louisiana or the hurricane.  Any suggestions welcome!

What about Beignet (a little doughnut thing, you buy at Cafe du Monde, in the French Quarter)

    n. Southern Louisiana
    1. A square doughnut with no hole: “a New Orleans coffeehouse selling beignets, an insidious Louisianian cousin of the doughnut that exists to get powdered sugar on your face” (Los Angeles Times).
    2. A fritter.

[:D]When I hear Pit Bull I think Sydney. Or Diego? Mikey? Jayla? That's all I got right now[sm=lame.gif].

Um, how about Bourbon, Jackson, Parish, Creole, Hurricane, Five, Bayou, Lucky (cuz the pup is lucky to have found you).  Just some ideas...

How about Louis, ummm.. yeah, i'm just into that name right now. It should be pronounced like LOO-EE, cause that's the right way to say it. Or Nicoise, which is some sort of salad that I was supposed to know the ingredients for on my french test, but I only found that out afterwards.

Here's a link to a glossary of some New Orleans terms. Even if you don't find a name there, it might prove to be inspirational.

I think Bourbon is my favorite so far. [:)]

Edit: You could always go with the obvious... Storm or Stormy
