What kind of dog do you have? I am no one to give advice but it would help others here if they knew what kind of dog it was. Different dogs have different habits and such, some dogs are very active while other breeds aren't.

Do you play with the toys with the dog? Dogs generally dont play alone, like a child generally doesn't grab a board game to play alone. Do you put yummy stuff in the kong for the pup to try to get out? What sory of toys do you have are they interactive toys?

I put kibble or Kong liver treat in it , he usually gets it out quicky -mayb that kong is too big?-  what  kind of  treat do you suggest.

I tried to play fetch with him but he doesnt bring it back > i play hide and seek. and that doesnt last long

what are some good games dog like?

You can put anythign in a Kong. Try putting healthy stuff in and then seal it at the end with peanut butter or something really delicious and freezing it. Does your dog have any queeky toys or anything. Dogs love to play tug of war . If you get a rope toy or a stuffie and put it by the dogs mouth and then start moving it quick im surethe dog will grab it and you can play tug. Even if the dog doesnt bring a toy back s/he might enjoy chasing it. Also you could let the dog have a toy and then chase him/her for the toy. Or you could place the nylabone in the dogs mouth and show hm/her what it is for. IMO toys with squeekers, smells, sounds are best. Dogs like interactive toys. My guys also love to chase old plant pots. Everytime they get near it they kick it away by accident and it makes ofr a great game of chase. Good luck!

Puppies do rest a lot, some more than others.  Is he just laying there like sleeping?  I would just let him sleep.  You can go for walks, although I wouldnt suggest a long one.  How long have you had him?

Hes young and new to your home, let him rest and begin to feel more comfortable with his surroundings.  Good luck!

    Any pictures???[:)

You can teach him fun tricks, too.  Start of with "Sit" then "Down" then you can move on to "stay"... "play dead"... etc.  That's a great way to bond with your pup and keep him occupied.  You'll notice they rest better after being mentally stimulated as well as physically.

Welcome aboard and post some photos for us, please!  [:)]

I've done a lot of fostering and I tend to get litters of pups.  None of the ones I have had play for long....little bursts of play, then rest time.

Not many puppies play for very long.  Growing is hard work and they need alot of rest.  When they go through their growth spurts they'll rest even more.  Playing with your puppy is usually the best and most entertaining exercise.  It will help you bond with the pup and establish yourself as alpha.  It will also help the pup learn "the rules."

You may only be playing for 5-10 minutes at a time, but you need to keep at it.  The first year or so of having a pup is alot of hard work that will pay off in the long run.

Congrats on the puppy!  Welcome to the forum.
