Mic, in this particular case I have to agree with the behavioralist that came out to the house.  Teddy is barky....all day at everything....which means that Angela can't take the nap that she so badly needs in the afternoons, and his behavior STRESSES her, which is not a good thing for a person with MS.  And that nap is critical to her to be able to function the REST of the day.

Teddy sounds like a wonderful little guy who spent most of his life in a crate and isn't able to function in a normal household and I think HE is stressed as well.  This just isn't a good fit.  And you know I don't say that lightly....I truely believe that bringing an animal into our homes requires that we made a commitment for the LIFETIME of that animal, but, there are cases where the dog would be happier and healthier in another home and I think this is one of those cases.

I rehomed a 13 month old girl and I did her an enormous favor by sending her to Lori where she gets to be her moms running partner, the only "girl" in the house and the Queen of the castle over the two boys.  It was really one of the hardest things I've ever done, deciding to send her to another home, but gosh, its been sooooo good for her.  I think Angela would be doing Teddy a HUGE favor as well, by rehoming him to a one dog home with someone who has the time, the patience and the HEALTH to deal with all his quirks.
