Manic Monday Chat

My mom and sister are both having some health procedures done this week.  My little sister is very skinny and has this lump in her abdomen that the Dr. thinks could be a fatty cyst or hernia.  She is having an ultrasound on Wed. to find out more.  My mom is also going in with her because she is having pre-op blood tests and an EKG done on Wed.  On Friday she is having outpatient surgery to remove some particles from her breast she calls "grains of sand" that are supposedly not cancerous but still need to be removed (she's already had a biopsy, mammogram, and MRI).

Glenda - I would have assumed they figure you're "wintering" in Massachusetts.  BWaahahaha!  I gotta say, I'm kinda glad I have waited to swap my license back to NH.  I get to miss all this political crap-o-lah.  Meanwhile, my mail forwarding doesn't seem to have gone through - I think I ought to call the post office.  The only mail I've gotten is mail that I requested be specifically addressed to me.  Shoot, reminds me again that I need to update my address w/AKC.

Ann, thinking of you today.  One year is tough, because all the sights and sounds and smells of the season just bring you back to those last days with your dear girl.  I hope the memories flooding back to you are good ones today.  ((hugs))

I am doing a home visit for dobe rescue tonight.  I've met the dog who is, hopefully, being adopted & he's a total sweetie.  I'm hoping that the visit goes smoothly & this boy gets a home!

Mums..... you are in Calif so not sure about your growing season.  My mums get a good start in the spring, they get close to blooming then I cust them way back instead of letting them bloom.  I put the cuttings in a pot of soil and get them started rooting for fall planting or as gifts to friends and neighbors.   Then in the fall they are full and not leggy and tons of blooms.   Mine have just started blooming this week and they are very pretty, my Asters are a little slow tho, they usually all bloom together.  I think it is because it was so hot and dry this year.  We havent had rain in 3 weeks and are supposed to get some today which will start the Asters blooming and the leaves changing.

Cant remember anything else!

I think we're back to summer weather again, but with wind.  I hate hot, windy days. I leave the slider open and then the little tufts of dog hair blow everywhere.

Aah, election season.  I've gotten so I don't even answer the phone unless I recognize the name and/or number on caller ID.  If it's not important enough for whoever it is to leave me a message, it's not important enough to bother answering it. And I keep getting mail from the Republicans asking for contributions.  WTH???  How do they even know my name and address? It goes directly from the mailbox to the recycle bin.

Last night was the big yearly neighborhood potluck ... so much yummy food.  I'm still stuffed. As the food was winding down, someone dashed home and got a huge chocolate cake with some soft choclatey filling out the oven and brought it over still warm.  Mmmm.

I really, really need to vacuum.  My hall and a couple of bedrooms have leaves on the carpet, dragged in I assume on Max's feet.

There is a huge piece of birthday cake sitting in my kitchen calling out to me.   LaLaLaLa.....

I had to come home to work this afternoon because the Sears repairman is coming to fix my leaky fridge.

Oh  I forgot....Jack o lanterns....  I use all kinds of utensils for scraping.  A potato peeler (the old fashion kind :) ) a paring knife,  a plastic radish rosette tool...mmmmm.....I love the shaved thing it makes the lighting so unique/  I saw a preview of Martha Stewart and she is doing primetime on hallmark with countdown to halloween and will be doing pumpkins.

I haven't gotten a darn thing done at work today.  I've been hung up on one location's petty cash report which has gotten progressively more screwed up because of incorrect entries made in the program at the store level.  My head is so muddled from trying to figure out how to correct it that I can hardly remember my name anymore.
