Scout got his rally novice title this weekend

This weekend Scout got his rally novice title. He placed 4th on saturday and 3rd on sunday.  We came home with lots of goodies and ribbons.  I stayed with his breeder and we got all of Scout's brothers and sisters together for a party. Seven weims all in one place!  It went really well and they all had a ball. Scout is completely exhausted.  I am too! We were entered in regular obedience as well. We would have qualified both days on that except for one broken long sit on saturday and one stupid handler error on sunday.  Regardless it was great experience and each time I feel more relaxed in the ring.  So its never wasted.

Thanks guys!  Scout just turned 2 in May.  And he is neutered. Sometimes I regret it because I know he will be fantastic once he fills out in the next year.  The breeder stacked him this weekend just to see how he looked and said he has fantastic angles.  Then I think, I'm not going to breed him, so it doesn't really matter.  He's a great dog and I don't have to deal with all that intact male crap. But I think the next one I will show(shh, don't tell my hubby ;o))

How wonderful to be surrounded by the breed you love!  Like swimming in Weims!  How beautiful!
Congrats to Scout!!!!  How did you enjoy the Rally?  What was your first Rally experience like?  People ok??  Were you nervous?

Thanks everybody. And Jaime, I'm so glad that he arrived safely! This was our first competition title. So it was neat to sit and think hey, I have a titled dog.  And he's the first puppy out of his litter to get a title.  So I'm very proud of us!

    Mirana,
I loved having all the weims about.  And you could really tell they recognized each other. Usually there's a warm up period involved when dogs meet.  But it was like one sniff and they all wanted to play.  It was neat to watch. I really like rally.  I make an utter fool with myself when I talk with scout out there. But it gets him all hyped up and paying attention so I don't care.  My first rally experience was at the weim specialty and that was nice and laid back.  This weekend was my second experience and the club and judges were very kind and encouraging.  People showed up and had never really practiced rally with their dogs, but studied up on the signs and they qualified.  I was a little nervous, but not as much as I was for regular obedience where much of it is out of your control.

Sorry, OT, but I know what you mean about the littermates knowing eachother.  Gracie has 10 brothers and sisters and she never spends more than 5 seconds before any group of them start tearing around playing.
Their mom is a different story, though..

Well, he looks verrrrry proud of himself.  Yea Scout!!!

(As soon as I find a Rally event that doesn't conflict with agility, I hope I'll have an RN dog.)
