Actually I've seen this same type of behavior with Moose the cat and Missy the other cat.  Missy is docile, but if Moose thinks you are hurting her, he will attack.  He has bitten and scratched me for accidentally stepping on her.  Moose also would attack Bear if I raised my voice to Bear.  It's crazy.  Moose is tight with me, but he will not hesitate to defend his little orange sister.

I just don't think of cats forming bonds like this...the way a dog would...almost pack like bonds. But he did NOT like her biting my husband....whatsoever. He is our more laid back cat...if the kids annoy him he just leaves, MamaCat swats or bites. She is pretty tolerant too tho...for a hellcat.

It also probably explains why he HATES it when he sees hubby and I getting amorous...lol. If we're behind a closed door erm cooking and he's around he really REALLY yowls and is a general PITB. Really great for the mood, lemme tell ya!

L- pre, congrats on your wedding!!! I'm so happy for you. Please forget all of the stupid drama. This is all about you and don't let them take away from your enjoyment. We will all be thinking of you tomorrow!

I start work on Sunday!!! Wooo hooo! My background check cleared and everything looks good so I'm on the schedule to start working this weekend. I have to be there bright and early at 7am. I'm so excited to get back to working with animals! I also meet with an advisor on Monday afternoon to check into going back to college for a higher degree, which is something I had wanted to do anyway. Hopefully with this job it will give me the chance to do that.

    Way to go, Xebby!

Nope, can't take credit for being creative....just a typo.

Lauren, I'm so happy for you, and I'll chime right in here with it is YOUR day.  Do your best to ignore the drama, and if you need to, TELL mom and company that it is VERY unfair of them to put a cloud on your day.  And, that six german shepherds are just waiting to come PUT them in line.

    Xebby!!!  woohooo!!!  Congrats!!!!

Lauren I am so happy for you!  Your day....no actually it your weekend starting now!!!!  Dont let anyone mess it up or stress you out! Just stand you ground and tell them... "Its my day...work it out or stay home :)"  If that doesnt work....call Deb and Amanda so they can handle it Wink

It rained here this morning, and it is so nice outside.  Supposed to get a cold front tonight and might even seem like fall by Sunday.  I enjoy fall but it just reminds me that yucky winter is right around the corner.

Hugs for those that need them, sounds like Cher needs some calming vibes before she gets in really big trouble with her Mom.

Lauren, I am so happy for you. And as the other said, it is your day. If Deb of Amanda are busy, give me a holler. Oh and you can add Kord to the other 6 German shepherds, though he likes cake and could be bribed.

Glenda, thank goodness your got the living room done. I understand your frustration now. It was not complete so you were keeping it on your mind and thus it was fouling your whole experience.

I called my dad who was still in the hospital, he told me they finally gave him the key to the back door and my brother will be driving the get away car. He will have his gall bladder out in 3 weeks. I am guessing they let him go because us kids were getting....persistant...in wanting answers and asking more and more questions. My sister camped at the hospital yesterday morning and my brother from late afternoon until they kicked him out. I kept up a steady stream of phone calls.

Now for a funny. On my sewing table I have a space where I can line up some straight pins for easy grabbing. Well I am working on finishing off the teenagers quilt and was threading a needle with a nice shiny threader....my younger cat decided he needed the shiny, was persistent in trying to get the shiny, cause he just LUVS shiny things, so the little bugger went on the offensive, he stole and ran off with a straight pin hanging out of his mouth! Took me 10 min to coax the little bugger from his hiding place to get the pin back. I guess I should be grateful he didn't steal my glasses.

Lauren, there's a magic I-Dog Wedding Day 2x4 in your Cheery Day card.... hope you get it today.  If not, it will magically jump from the page and appear in your hands any time you need to knock someone out tomorrow.

Meanwhile, HAPPY WEDDING EVE!!!!  Don't sweat any of it - you're still going to get married whether the flowers arrive the way you wanted them, or the place settings look the way you wanted them, or not.   Nobody will know the difference.  All you need is you, him, the officiant, the witnesses, and a celebration afterward!

I had a dream this morning... that I arrived at the Duggar's house (you know, that family with 19 Kids and Counting....)  and they had "90 Dobes and Counting"  Some sort of Animal Welfare person was there, because why did Michelle and Jimbob have so many Dobes?  In my dream, it was Michelle's baby voice saying how she couldn't spay or neuter any of them because it wasn't God's will.  Yeah, that's the dream I woke up to this morning...

Anyway, coffee is loaded and proofreading awaits.  Enjoy the day, all!

Lauren - I'm super excited for you and hope the day is as magical as it should be.

Xebby - Congratulations on getting to start the job!!

Gina - thinking "approval" vibes for your hubby. Be sure to put the cats out if you decide to celebrate Wink

I can see I'm not the only one who's had a rough week. I'm glad it's Friday and that my friend arrives tomorrow night but I wish I didn't feel so stressed and exhausted. She doesn't get in until 9 tomorrow night, so I'm sure we won't get to bed until late. We're going to go to the home and garden show on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to that. Then Tuesday we leave for the mountains for a few days. The B&B I booked us in looks really charming and perfect for a girl's getaway. I just have a ton to get done both here and at home before I can enjoy the time off.

Happy Wedding Day tomorrow, Lauren!   Big Smile  You deserve the most wonderful day possible and I wish I could slap some sense into everyone who is acting like selfish idiots.  Ignore them and seize the day!

Congrats, Amanda on the job! :)

Dawn, I'm so glad to hear your Dad's making his getaway.  Best wishes to him on his upcoming surgery.   I'm glad your cat didn't swallow that pin! yikes

Gabby found a big black beetle yesterday.  I saw her pawing at it and she was wanting to pick it up but was hesitant (they must smell unappetizing, lol) but when Twister showed interest, she snatched it up and proceeded to crunch it up and eat it.  She looked like she was eating a lemon so it must not have tasted too good. oy, silly puppy.

I found out that we may have to go to a BBQ cookoff late tomorrow afternoon.  A friend entered and he really wants people to come out but I want to go to the Moonlight in the Gardens tomorrow night.  I guess we can eat Q and then go to the gardens if we aren't too full and lazy.  The times are in a bit of conflict too.  Normally, we don't have much planned on the weekends.  Wish they weren't both on the same day.

Sunday I'm having lunch with two friends.  It should be very emotional but in a good way.  One of them is the one I had a talk with earlier this week concerning how I felt she had pushed me away for the last year or so.  I was very frank about how she had much she had hurt me and she apologized profusely and said she had no idea I felt that way (she has been thru some big life changes) but the conversation ended sort of vaguely.  She's moving out of state at the end of the month and I was left feeling sort of lost and sad.  Last night we talked again and we both agreed that we want to try and remain friends.  I'm feeling so happy and reliveved.  We've known each other for almost 20 years and we've been through a lot together.  We both are to blame for letting things get so bad between us and I regret that I didn't say something a long time ago.

Jackie, busy weekend!  Have fun at the Q and the moonlight in the gardens if you get there. Sounds like fun!  I'm glad you were able to talk to your friend and hopefully lunch will go well.

I'm hungry but didn't bring anything good for lunch and don't have a lot of option.  boo hoo.

Moose has his own hump toy, so generally he leaves me alone if I'm lucky enough to be accompanied to bed.  It is very weird, but handy at times. Indifferent

Yes, busy weekend and those BBQ cookoffs can be exhausting (trying to please all those judges, ya know Wink) and the sauce gets everywhere.......:)   I better leave my feathered boa at home.
