Long story short, Kenya was in the care of a woman I know from work, and her husband (a police offer who used to have a K9 partner). When they opened her crate in the back of their car and tried to help her out, she spooked and bolted. We have been looking for her all over, they've visited all the area business to put up fliers, they visited all the animal shelters and filed reports, put a lost ad on Craigslist, and I've sent reports to the radio station. She was wearing a collar with an ID plate and she is microchipped. I think she is just wandering around looking for me and is too spooked to go to anyone else at this point. We've canvassed so much area there's really not much else to do other than wait for someone to call with a sighting or a catch and I think with so many people looking and calling her they may have just made it worse and now she's hiding or gone away looking for me because she is scared of all these people that were trying to catch her (they looked for a while before calling me). The complicating factor is that this was in their neighborhood, not mine. If it happened here, she would have just gone straight home.
Here's hoping someone picks her up before she gets more scared!
