T-Bone says hi to all :) I've been in Seattle the past week saying goodbye to old friends, the area, etc. since I'm moving. T-Bone has/had a very strange obsession with Ace, my ex-fiance's beagle. He's never fixated on another dog before, but he did it something awful with Ace. Whining, pacing, crying, panting, mounting, being given correction by Ace, still mounting, etc. It was downright OBNOXIOUS for everyone involved (and being that anxious and hyer couldn't feel good to him either) I absolutely refuse to let any other human correct my dog (don't care how mad this makes them) but I have to say it was getting out of hand, and redirection wasn't working. I started by clapping very sharply, giving a loud NO. and making him come lay by me. Looking at Ace wasn't even permitted if he started whining. Very quickly we've moved forward to knowing that mounting, mouthing, or any "rude" behavior gets him a time out. He hardly even whines anymore, and I am proud to report they can even play together for short, supervised periods of time now! (He never ever aggresses, even when Ace corrects him, he just annoys him to death!)
Bonesy has been living it up at the 40 acre dog park here and is very gentle with the little dogs in particular.
T-Bone got a handmade leather collar today with his name tooled into it at the fair. Will upload pics asap!
