    My dog has me trained!

So here I was sitting at my computer and Gizmo starts to nudge me so I get up she runs to her food bowl and I poor her some food.

Ok then I sit back down and agean she nudges me, well I get up and she runs to the door, I take her out and she does what she needs to.

Finlay I get back to my computer and once more Gizmo is nudging me, I ignor it, she barks, I ignor it agen, she start to nibble on my side, Ok what now. She is holding her toy I play a little fetch then sit back down and guess what!

Yep there she is nibbling on my side agen, I get up and she runs over to her leash, so I take her for a walk, it's already Midnight so we don't go far.

Now I am back at my computer and there she is agean, I ignor her, she barks, ignor more, nibble more, I ignor more. Then she runs over and grabs her squeeky toy and hold it up to me and squeeks it as loud as she can without stoping. Now I had it, in the crate she goes with all her toys.

I think her meathod of training me works better than how I train her. It doean't take much to get my attention and I usally end up giving in to whatever she wants. I only wish she would listen to me the way I do to her.

Please don't allow this kind of behavior to continue! It is important that Gizmo recognizes you as the alpha dog and respects your space and time. By giving in to her every request (bathroom breaks aside of course), you are sending the wrong message unwittingly training her to whine, nudge and nibble you until she gets her way. What kind of training is she receiving? Do you enforce this training every day? It will be hard at first but don't give in to whatever she wants -- table scraps, playtime while you're working or a bowl of dog food whenever she's hungry. Be consistent with your actions and soon she will learn to live by your rules and not hers.

I didn't realize how much I was giving into her untill I put her in the crate. I usally allow her to do this because it's her way of telling me she need to go out to do her thing. It wasn't untill she started squeeking the toy that I realized I was giving in to that behavor. She is on a schedule feeding and usally doesn't complain for food but I took her to the vets today and skiped one of her meals so I figued I better give it to her then. I think once she realized she could get away with it, it only got worse from there.

I just found it a little strage she did this without me even noticing I was being trained by her.
