    frozen broth

Does anyone else feed there dog frozen cubes of chicken/beef broth as a treat? Buster loves ice cubes and I thought the other day, why not freeze chicken broth and give it to him. I havent actually given it to him yet .. i finaly made it to the store to get some so its in the freezer right now getting iced. I dont even know if he'll like it but hey anythings worth a try.

Gizmo loves ice cubes as a treat. The vet suggested to give her some to help keep her teeth cleen, it really does work at removing bad stuff from dogs teeth. I have never tried broth, Gizmo seems to enjoy just plain ice so much I didn't want to add anything to it. I don't see why it wouldn't be a bad idea, Sounds like he'll enjoy that little extra flavor.

I've actually made chicken broth ice cubes for Tobes before. Toby loves to play floor hockey with reg. ice cubes...so I tried making them with chicken broth. He loves them even more!!!!

I boil chicken breast for Tobes....so I just use the broth from that to make the cubes.

Max likes ice cubes, too.  I never thought of using broth, but since he takes his ice over on the rug to crunch it, I'd probably wind up with little chicken or beef broth puddles soaking all over.[8D]

I dont know but I think the store bought broth is too salty for them...? Unless you got a kind without it... its a good idea, Ill do that next time we boil a chicken or something.

Mine like pumpkin ice, tea ice (I use herbal teas for various things), fruit ice (food processor), yogurt ice (we aren't doing dairy, any more, but they LOVE it!), frozen carrots, and just about anything frozen. I always have something in the freezer for them. It's realllllyyyy hot here!

Ya the freezing many things sounds good. Especialy since it gets so hot here. Even walking him at night its so humid out that he's panting up a storm and gulping down water. So giving him frozen stuff would help him cool off. I finaly gave him one and I noticed that broth seperates a bit when frozen. Im assumin the chicken juice sinks and the water rises becuase he ate the bottom of the cube but left the top. I was "blessed" with a picky dog *cough*. Ya it kind of sucks sometimes lol. They make salt free broth? I never pay attention. That would probably be better then. I'll have to look for that instead next time.

You can buy unsalted broth in cans too!
