Freedom Friday!! MC

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm enjoying a late start today because of my eye dr. appt. I'd love to have a job working like 10-3 or something. I'm also looking forward to the 3 day weekend. I have my shelter orientation tomorrow morning and am super excited. It's supposed to be 101 again today but hopefully will cool down over the next few days. We don't have any plans other than some grilling and chilling Big Smile

Tina - Have a great time this weekend and a safe drive both ways.

Steph - I'll be thinking good thoughts for your FH and finding a new job.

Jan - I hope your DH's meeting has better than expected outcomes.

Paige - I'm so happy to see you made it safely. Yay!!

I hadn't seen anything on Bevo, so I'm off to go look.

Yea, I definitely giggled at the idea of us "cheering" Tina on..... Devil

You gals are too silly!  You are going to make me giggle at the wrong moment thinking of a group of people and dogs yelling "gimme a T...."

Steph, seriously, job vibes for your FH.

Cathy, good luck at the eye doctor this morning.

I hope Deb didn't throw out her back helping her DD carry all 4 billion pairs of shoes to her dorm room.

ETA: Janice, good meeting results for your DH at work.

Thoughts to everyone who needs them! *Sends some Canadian hugs and Wonderbars*

So I'm 25 today.. Yippee.. I'm a bit tired of people asking me what I want since what I want most in the world isn't possible.  I want to give Maze a new heart and make her healthy again.  That would be the best birthday present ever.

But! Today I'm doing nothing! So ya'll will probably see me on here quite a bit. Lol.

Tomorrow we're headed up North to visit the inlaws to do E's birthday and a couple of others too. Hopefully that will go well. The kids are excited.

The weather is VERY Fall like right now which is very welcome...all the windows are open and the breeze feels great. Cleo is shedding like a freight train to make room for that winter coat LOL!

Nothing else to report and I sent good vibes to all who need them!

I'm glad Paige made the trip successfully.  I get a bit nervous in some mountains if I look over the edge of the road and see wrecked cars laying around, which I have seen in CO.

Tina, we are all so ridiculously excited for your weekend.  :)

Amanda and Bevo are in my thoughts.

A ray of hope for Diego.  Finally spoke to a woman in Chi rescue here.  She has no foster homes, of course.  She is going to try and go by and look at him today.  I got no answer at the phone listed and I started calling at 6:00 am.  Hopefully, his people are out of town and the moving story is wrong.  He has till Tuesday.  Another member here who knows her dogs told me she's not sure he's a Chi.  I thought Pap when I first saw him but then changed my mind. I hope I don't have to start all over with Pap rescue....

Steph, sending good job vibes for your DH.  That sucks.

My mind has gone blank but good vibes to everyone who needs them.

Just got an email from the Chi lady and she thinks he's a Pap too.  She says she has good contacts with Pap rescue, if needed.

Ugh, Steph, agreed - that sucks. Fingers crossed for you guys. They always say it's easier to find a job when you already have one, even if the current one is sucky, so maybe it will help!

Jackie, you're killin' me with little Diego. :) My first thought when I saw his pic was "papillon," but chis can look awfully similar... those face markings, though. Oh man. If I had just a little less willpower I would be calling you to send him out here. Good thing I don't drink!

Anyway, let me know if there's anything I can do to pitch in. If you need extra flea stuff, or shampoo, or help with transport, or anything...

Something about his little face just grabbed me and won't let go. I really wish I were in a position to take him in. I did send the link to the thread to my BF's mom on the off chance that she might consider another dog...!

I know what you mean about his little face.  It got me too and I can't get him off my mind.  Thanks, Courtney and I wish you could take him but I know it's not a good time for you.  You know I will help with transport if it comes to anyone, anywhere able to take him if he's not claimed.

Annie needs our good vibes.  Aspen is not well.  She has a thread in GC.

Eye dr. appt went well in that he agreed that I have severely dry eyes and gave me a script for restasis. I mentioned that I'd read that you can kick start the restasis by using steroid eye drops for a couple weeks first and he said that was true and wrote me a script for that too. I guess it really pays to do your own research sometimes. I'm just relieved that I may finally get some relief Big Smile.

I've had Bevo and Amanda on my mind all morning. I just hope we hear some good news soon.

I'm worried about Bevo and Aspen -- I'll be away from the forum for the rest of the day, so if we get an update, can someone let me know of FB pretty please? I wish I had Annie's number still, I lost it when we switched phones.

I used my in-laws carpet sucker (I can't think of the right word - it shoots out soap and sucks it up?) to clean the seats and floor boards in my car - it STUNK to high heaven so it had to be done. It was like high freaking noon and I think I sweated to death. Ugh. It reminded me of that time someone here cleaned the top of the fridge. Either keep up with it or don't do it at all. The water that got sucked out was DISGUSTING.

As repayment for letting me use the carpet sucker I bathed my doodle-in-law, plus my two, since the in-laws have the outside shower. I sweated some more and got three sets of stink-eyes.

FH is working overtime tonight at the Usher concert in Daytona. He got offered the JO BROS!!!!! but turned it down. Idiot.

I am heartbroken over Annie's news.

Me too.  Every time I read one of these threads about one of our fur friends being ill, I always think it'll be okay and lately, the news hasn't been good. I hope we hear from Amanda soon and she's got something good to report.

    I'm heartbroken too about Aspen.

    • Gold Top Dog

Poor Aspen, and poor Annie.  My heart hurts so bad for her.
