    Freedom Friday!! MC

Wahooooooo!! The long weekend is finally within spittting distance!

It is calm and quiet here this morning.  Thunder is crated, everyone was given their little "treat" this morning before I even got up and peace is reigning in the tin can!  Well, ok, not quite, Shadow is still bent on getting into the bathroom to raid the cat food and trash and Thor is a bit barky this morning....one or two at a time....but, there is no growling, no teeth and no flying blood so this is a really good thing!

Annnnnnnnd!! It's Friday!!  Long weekend is almost here.  I'm very excited for Tina to have a wonderful weekend!  Sending healthy vibes for Bevo.

I want to thank everyone for putting up with me yesteday.  I know that I was pretty freaked out and gloomy.

Theo is doing great.  Not needing pain meds at all.  His wounds look gross, but good, if that makes any sense at all.

I'm soooo looking forward to the long weekend.  I imagine that DH will have to pop into the station at some point to be sure everything is in order for the long weekend, but that will hopefully be tomorrow and then we'll have a real two day weekend at the very least.  Eldest DS will be here sometime on Sunday, hopefully before bedtime (he plans, the universe rolls on the floor laughing).  Monday is youngest DS's b'day, which gives a whole new meaning to Labor Day......

So far, the campground is surprisingly quiet.  Most weeks it starts filling up on Thursdays.  No doubt it'll start to fill up today and this evening though.  Maybe we'll get really lucky and it'll be a quiet weekend, altho I can't imagine that happening on the last weekend of summer!

The picnic they did on Sunday was really good.  We "know" more of the long termers better now and they aren't wondering so much about the wierd people with all the critters who pretty much keep to themselves.  Todd is gone during the weekdays  and it's tough to get out and do much socializing with the "kids", so aside from some really good food, it was a great chance to meet the others.

And, and, AND, I get my phone installed today and cable again!!  A wonderful start to what is going to be a great weekend!  And, it's all downhill from here, in a good way......by the time the weekend is over, there will only be two more weeks before we can get into the house!!

Have a great day everyone, and for those of you who are on your way out the door for the weekend, have a wonderful weekend!

I'm looking forward to a weekend of absolutely no plans. This is the first weekend in at least a month where I wasn't going somewhere or company wasn't coming up to visit. While that's nice, I kinda just want to kick back and relax. Taking Glenda's advice, I've been slowly working on small cleaning up/uncluttering projects around the house and it would be nice to have a long weekend to tackle some bigger projects.

I like my haircut. I booked another appointment with the same girl for 6 weeks. I'm glad to find someone local to me that's good. The price was VERY reasonable too, for a haircut and eyebrow wax. Or, at least, I find it reasonable lol. I never realized that place was there. I've walked around downtown many a time and never saw them before. Their "store front" though doesn't really catch the eye at all. You also can't see inside their windows.

Can it be 4pm already? I actually do have plenty of work today to keep me busy, but I'd like to fast forward to quitting time. It's been a long, odd week. I think tonight kicking back with some beer and movies is in order.

    Thoughts for Bevo going out.

Glad to see Paige checked in.  Mountain driving, not my thing either.  If I'm the passenger, I get motion sick.  Apparently I have "sea legs", but not "mountain legs".

Jackie, please know you are going above and beyond for Diego.  ((Hugs))

I'm all set to leave at noon and I will happily go without feeling guilty.

There s a huge helicopter presence here this morning. All I can think itmight be is the woman that ismissing. They found blood in herhouse an front porch and found her car abndoned in town with blod all over it. It's little scarybecause they re calling it random act of violence and I live in a smlltown. Eep!! I hope everyone has a great long weekend!

I'm with you Sharon.  Only could you make mine a nice glass of white wine?

Tina, I'm NOT with you since I know how special you intend this weekend to be.  LOL!

It was good to see Paige check in.  Quite the trip to take alone.  And yeah, I'm ok on mountains as long as I can't see how high up I am!

Sorry for my poor typing on my iPod lol

There would have been no chance to get sick - it was all nice and "enclosed" -ie, through the woods climbing up and down these mountains... and the poor truck at some points could only go 30 mph in 3rd gear.  Never trusting google maps when "avoid tolls" is in the mix.  I'm still debating on staying another day to visit w/my friend and avoid the storm.  Or just get it over with and try to sneak in before it's a mess.

Jackie, whatever vibes you need, you got 'em.  (I've not had a chance to catch up on the last 4 days of chat)

I don't work for them, but here is my plug: use Rand-McNally maps, conveniently located online for free.

Glenda, I'm really trying not to have expectations either way.  Am just going to go with the flow, so-to-speak.

Lauren, that is scary - stay safe!

Paige, Jackie's co-worker found a little dog (likely Chihuahua) at the door of their office.  It has a tag, but nobody is answering the phone.  Jackie took the little dog to ac late yesterday after questioning neighbors who think the people moved.  She is trying to get a response from Chi rescue before the 5 days is up.

Well, yes, but Tina, which ever way that the flow goes, you certainly don't need any extra baggage!  But, we'll all be cheering you on from cyberspace. Wink  it is sooooo time for a really good man for you.

Paige, I'm thinking it's going to be six of one, half dozen of the other with Earl.  It's just now having an effect on the Carolina's and they are talking mostly the Cape last I heard.  I don't think anything at all inland will get anything more than rain.

Thanks, Glenda.  You're right, it's time...though only time will tell.

Yay! My second client today canceled. Woo! I can't stand that parent! I'm hoping to drop them soon.

My first kid of the day, needs some change is good vibes. His current teacher said she doesn't want him in her class (ok, what she said actually is that it is not appropriate for him). He struggled so badly last year, which is why I am involved in his life. The school keeps suggesting things that are way below this kid. There is a private school that he is accepted to, and they are ready, willing, and would be happy to have him. He's afraid of the change though. He admits it might be better for him, but doesn't want to change, and says he wants to stay where he is. He knows his teacher doesn't want him.  We're all hoping he agrees to try it out for the orientation for a few days next week. If only for the fact that it starts at 9 instead of 7:30, it would be better for him.

No long weekend here, or, well, I have a weekend, because I have Sunday off. I'm supposed to go to see someone at 11, but that poor kid looked as though he felt like crap yesterday. If his dad were home, I think he would cancel and let the kid have a break. At least it's cooler out, and we can go outside today. Yay for not being in the 90s.

Almost forgot, good vibes for Billy.

Erica, any update on Bitty & Benny's vomiting?  Hopefully they are feeling better and Casey isn't sick, too.

**change is good** vibes for your student, Jen.

Yea, I definitely giggled at the idea of us "cheering" Tina on..... Devil

Poor, Diego, good luck w/ rescue Jackie

Paige, I'm so glad you made it safely.

I'm happy that everyone is calmer today, Glenda

FH got bad news yesterday.  They're cutting his hours @ work.  He already took a huge pay cut when he went there (something like $6 less/hr than what he made before the lay off) we really can't afford for him to lose the time.  So any iDog thoughts and prayers that he finds another job, or something part time to make up the difference, or whatever it is God has in mind, would be great.  *sigh* Anyone wanna book a Tupperware party from us? Huh?

On the bright side, we're going to go watch an air show tomorrow, and I'm excited, haven't been to one since I was a kid.  Also seems like there are gonna be a couple good parties tonight, maybe I can convince FH we should go to one.

I have the day off today and getting ready to enjoy a 4 day weekend....IF....my darn Microsoft Outlook will cooperate.  I simply need to activite my Out of Office message...I've been sitting her for 30 minutes trying to get it to launch.  I may have to call or IM my IT support person...argh.  I hadn't planned on working on this for so long.  I actually have a couple of other tasks I wanted to complete before I start my weekend.  double argh.

Trying to catch up with the chat over the last couple of days...has Diego been reunited with his people?  Or do we think they just left him behind...that hurts my stomach just thinking about that being the case.  How could anyone DO that?  Glenda, reading your experiences yesterday with Thunder hit home for me, although your current AND temporary living situation is surely the reason.  I'm glad to hear you are keeping the dogs on valerian root and calms forte to manage some level of peace in the RV.

    Good vibes for Bevo.

I'm dealing with transferred agression/frustration with Heidi and I'm not sure what to do about it.  Its all about the cats.  When she sees or hears a cat, she gets alll amped up; then transfers her frustration in an aggressive manner towards Bruder.  Night before last was a bad instance.  I was sitting on the back porch with all three dogs; and Heidi saw a cat through the french doors.  She barked, jumped up on the door, then immediately turned around at lashed out at Bruder by scruffing his neck, hard.  This turned into an all out scuffle...which I could not stop.  In fact, I had to get out of the way, because I feared getting bitten.  I had nothing to use that could stop the insanity.  They almost rolled into the pool, I suppose that would have done the trick.  Anyway, Rick came out and with his big burly voice got them to stop.  The whole thing only lasted a couple of minutes, but it was bad, real bad.  Both of them were immediately kenneled while I recuperated.  I don't know if that is the thing to do, but they had to go.

They recovered, they are fine with each other as they always are.  Heidi ended up with a minor injury on her muzzle.  I've got a call into the trainer/bevaviorist I used a couple of years ago.  We'll see what he has to say.  I completely KNOW that its a management issue; and keeping the darn cats out of sight and hearing from her.  Such a pain.

Well, as I write...it looks like my rebooting the computer has helped.  MS Outlook has opened up so now I can wrap up the work, go get dressed; and give those dogs some attention.

Ugh, Barb, how frustrating. The behaviorist sounds like a good idea.

Sounds like we're having a lot of amped-up dog issues around here these days! I wonder if the heat has anything to do with it. There's lots of research showing how people behave more aggressively and irrationally when it's hot - maybe everyone will settle down a bit as it starts to get cooler.

Paige, I'm shuddering thinking of your steep mountain drive. Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out!

Tina, hope you have fun, in whatever way you choose :)
