Tired Tuesday talk

    Tired Tuesday talk

GROAN!!  And I've already been up for 40 minutes at 5:23.  Do not know how early DH had to get up......he didn't wake me until he was leaving.     DS has an appointment to get his front end checked and aligned...hopefully that's all it needs....at 8, so I shall be here alone with my charming dogs who no doubt will all think that they need to go out at the same time.  But, Todd is coming home at around 9:30 to help with walks. And then of course, going back to finish his day.

Meg, I'm so sorry you're getting jerked around like this!  Sending good vibes for a quick and great placement for you.  Glad that Cher is doing well too.

So.....still counting down days.  Really bad...I printed out a calender for August and September, posted them on the fridge and am crossing off days each and every night.  I'm like a little kid!  Three weeks from today we get to move into a real and actual HOUSE again!!  I went ahead and reserved a small truck for the day so we can just do it all in one load and not have to be overly concerned about the weather.  I can give the house a good cleaning on Monday, get everything in on Tuesday, and so long as we have some semblence of order by bedtime we'll be in good shape.  Since everything but the bare essentials are still in MI, it shouldn't take me long to be good and settled.  Am hoping to be able to leave for a trip to MI bythe beginning of the next week.  Haven't seen my Mom in over a year, and we do need to get some winter clothing from storage, at the very least.  And whatever else I can manage to stuff in my car!  Will be kind of nice to have some of our stuff again.  Getting all of our stuff will have to wait a bit longer, but there are some things that I really want to have!

Need more coffee.......everyone have a great day!

Glenda, I'm so excited for you that you guys get to move into a house again!!!!  Meg, I really hope it all gets settled for you soon.

I've decided to come up with a plan to tackle the clutter around this house. I think it was Glenda who said take small chunks. I'm going to try that out. I'm usually an all or nothing type of person lol (which is likely why NOTHING has gotten done, b/c who has time to do it all at once?!)  I figure even if I just go through 1 box of stuff that's cluttering up our storage, I'll likely be done in no time - after all it's not like it's THAT bad. I also want to rearrange how we have things going in cabinets and the like. I think I could squeeze out a bit more space for storing stuff, if I just rearrange a few things. A trip to the town dump is also in order. We have a few things we can't just throw out with the normal garbage that need to go, chiefly my significant others old rusted bike. I'm tired of seeing it in the guest room, because that's the only place we can store it!

For now, I should start my work day. It's the end of the month, lots of wrapping up to do AND my coffee is ready. MMMM a pot of Southern Pecan Green Mountain coffee awaits me.

I think it was me.  Set a timer for 15 or 20 minutes.  That's all you "have" to work.  More is your choice.  Or, pick a task.  A box, a drawer or cabinet.  Little tasks add up quickly, but if you break it up it's not so overwhelming.  This from an ADHD person who can't deal with clutter of any kind without feeling slightly "loopy"!

I'm up!  I fell asleep on the couch watching TV.  And, woke up to Willow snoring LOUDLY on the floor right next to my head, LOL!

We arehaving some very hot days so I am going to get her up and out to the park soon.

I'm working on trying to be less obsessive about things like housework.  I have to let some things "go" sometimes.  But, then I obsess about how I'm "letting things go."  I think I need medication!

    • Gold Top Dog

Lori, I think it's easier to let one thing "go" at a time.  It sounds like you tend towards a tiny bit of OCD (from one who IS) and that makes it harder.

Geeze....I move from FL and the hurricanes are following me??

That's a great idea setting small tasks or setting a time frame. I am an all or nothing type person too so this is really hard for me. Right now I see all this stuff that needs to get done before sunday and it is overwhelming to the point that I'm doing nothing. So I need to practice this 1 task at a time thing

So there is a lost alzhiemer patient that has been missing since sun. Time is critical in this weather, especially for elderly. It has been in the mid to high 90s. Anyway, the state police have been searching but he hasn't been found yet. I sure hope that they call us in today. I don't want this guy to die out there because the state police didn't use all the resources at their disposal! (The state police will not call volunteer groups no matter what. The locals will but msp won't.)

I do the same. I see all that needs to get done, so I do nothing at all. Defeats the purpose! Glenda I WILL set a timer. I like that idea. It'll give me some structure to the project of "Operation Clean and Organize House" I find it frustrating and amusing that in my "work life" I'm organized, detailed and schedule oriented (x amount of time to do this task then on to the next), yet for the life of me I cannot translate that over to my personal life and household chores.

I really hope Jewliee that they call you guys in. This heat is dangerous for anyone, let alone an elderly person with alzhiemer's. I would think they'd want to utilize all resources at their disposal...

There was a murder in my town last night!  eeeep!

So Derek's best man and his wife (my MOH) demanded essentially to come over last night to talk to us.  Frustrating.  But Derek totally put her in her place and yelled at her for a long time, while she sat and cried about how she feels.  And I told her also how I feel, and well, I HATE to say this, because it is sooo not me, but this is something that gets to be about me, and me alone (well, with Derek too Stick out tongue).  And I told her, that at our attempt at a "re-do" (we are all going to a female strip club) if any one of the girls whatsoever even takes a snipe at another one, bye bye, they are GONE.  She pissed Derek off, though, when she wouldn't tell him she wasn't going to say anything at it.  But I'm sticking to it now.  They've all had their turns at getting married and having the perfect time, and I'm left sitting in ***.  Not anymore!

Her husband was probably in the doghouse last night, as he sided with Derek and I, and he got yelled at by her for that.  Ahhh well.

Julie, have I told you how freaking jealous I am of you????  I want to go away sooo bad!!  Please take lots of pictures!!!

Meg - I hope the school gets their heads out of their asses and gets you a placement, it sucks so bad that you are paying your money to do the schooling and yet you are stopped from doing it!  Maybe see if you could get a partial refund?  I know schooling in the USA isn't cheap!!

Glenda - what day specifically are you movin gin?  the 20th?  I will count down with you Big Smile I'm so excited and happy that things are looking up for you, you truly truly deserve this, and you are insanely strong!

Yeah apparently they would let someone die than call in a non-msp dog.
    • Gold Top Dog

Oh man.  Prayers for the poor guy.

I too am an all or nothing kind of gal, but when there is soooo much to do, I find that if I break it into little pieces, I'm better able to deal with it.

I also plan the heck out of things....three weeks left in the RV, yet I already know exactly what is going to the house, when and how!  Even tho plans often get messed up, HAVING a plan makes me feel like I have some control over the chaos!

    That's just ridiculous.

Glenda, I'm seriously excited for you guys and will be counting down with you! This is long overdue for your

Ugh, coffee and my stomach are currently battling it out and reminding me why I gave it up for several months, before my caffeine junkie side caved and started drinking it again.

DS did not get the restaurant job; still waiting to hear back about the taxi gig.  He's talking about joining the Air Force.  I don't so much have a problem with the AF (I told him if he picked a service, that was the best one), but I don't know how well "don't ask, don't tell" works.  Plus he has a bi-polar disorder diagnosis on record. And he has a major problem with authority figures (maybe it's a problem with his big mouth). So I dunno.  He's smart and capable, just young, impulsive, and full of attitude.

Julie, I hope the Alzheimer's patient is found safe.  I don't understand politics sometimes.

Yesterday my monitor here at work crapped out, so I have a different one.  The color and contrastf was off, so I started playing with it.  Now my settings are nearly right but I somehow changed the font and everything looks wrong.  I spent about half the day trying to reset it and only made it worse.  I such a technological wizard. Indifferent

The house is officially ours on the 20th.  That day I'll go over to clean, take the stuff from the tent, my plants, all the stuff that wouldn't fit in the storage, and then when Todd gets home, Ryan and I will take the freezer over and the gas grill.

On Tuesday the 21st we'll pull the RV out of here and take that over to the house, get the dogs settled in their crates in the house, and then pick up the truck and get our "stuff" out of storage.  I got a little bit larger truck than we'll really need, so we won't have to be super picky about loading it and that should speed the loading process up.  I figure that by late afternoon we should be all set and unloaded.

See what I mean about making plans?

Lauren, I'm sure it wasn't a fun time, but it's really good that the air got cleared with your PITA MOH.  Sorry, but this IS your day and you deserve for it to be absolutely perfect.

Why does everyone want to get together the last week before school starts, when we had a whole summer to socialize ???/

Why does everyone want to get together the last week before school starts, when we had a whole summer to socialize ???/

Cuz it's the last official weekend of summer.  Cuz it's a 3-day weekend. Cuz there might just be one thing they forgot over the summer that can't wait until Thanksgiving break.

Or maybe everyone is just nuts.
