Just a boring old day(kle1986)

They are gorgeous. Pebbles got huge! I forget how we kept our rabbits watered in the winter time I think we had extra bowls we just rotated them around when they froze..

Add me to the people who are concerned for these dogs and for you, Kim.  You can't see how it looks from an outside perspective but it's impossible for me to feel anything but sadness and concern when I see you have a new dog.

I wish I could have a bunny! They're sooooo cute!

Great pack! Especially the cats. They're gorgeous.

    • Gold Top Dog

Your dogs are beautiful, I love all the pictures!

With that said, I have to say something. I remember her post a while back about Reuben and everyone said these same things to her. I really think everyone should just let it be. I think its already been said and people scared her away for a time and I just think we should be supportive because its already been said. I'm not trying to start an arguement or anything, I am aware of how many dogs shes had, but no one here can change the fact she already has these dogs. Just hope for the best and offer support. :)

I can appreciate you wanting to be supportive. We have all been there with kim. We have supported her from the very beginning, years ago when she had her first aussie, who either died or was given away (I can't remember). Then there was jayde, the 2nd aussie who was returned to the breeder. Then zeeva, the 3rd aussie, who was promised to a fellow idogger, but kim decided to keep, then gave away. There's been dogs who died at vets, dogs who have been hit by cars, dogs who were poisoned and a cat who was stepped on and killed. I don't think this is all of it either and this is just over the span of what, 2 years? There has been at least 12 dogs in just 2 years! Think about that These stories taken together are either lies or there is some serious animal abuse or mental illness or both going on. At this point, for the sake of all involved, especially the animals, this person should be on "do not adopt" lists of Rescue groups, breeders and shelters. Sorry to sound so harsh, but you hit a nerve to suggest that we continue to support someone who can not seem to keep an animal alive for more than 2 years.

Sorry mods, but this needs to be said.

I understand what you are saying I really do, I've been on this forum for a few years now and know the stories. And I'm not trying to upset anyone either, I just have a different opinion is all. It is very sad how many dogs she has gone through over such a short span, but from what I understood not all of it was her fault? So I'm not sure its really fair to hold all over those incidents over her head. Maybe she shouldn't have gotten more animals until she got things figured out. All I am saying is she has these animals now, no one can change that. I'm hoping for the best for those dogs I really am.

Julie, you're 100% right. Something is very wrong over at Kim's....too many animals have passed through her hands and I do not believe she's telling the whole truth about what happens to them or where they come from.

Vanessa, I like you, I really do, but I don't think you should be asking anyone who has followed what has happend over at Kim's to continue supporting her. I've had a pit in my stomache over this for some time now.

Sometimes silence becomes acceptance.  I don't always speak up when someone posts something I don't agree with.  I just ignore it because usually it's not important enough to start an argument or be critical. I doubt anyone here agrees with every statement made by others.

In this case, I don't want my silence to be a sign of acceptance.  I don't think Kim should own pets at this point in her life.  I would gladly support her if she would agree that she needs to quit getting animals and then disposing of them when they are no longer convenient.

Jackie, I, too, do that alot on here (and other forums I'm a member of)...not this time.

I would not go so far as to say Kimberly is unfit to own animals but perhaps she needs to spend more time on selection of breeds/dogs and narrowing down what she is looking for?  I just see such a huge range of breeds and plans for each animal, I personally can't imagine how I could achieve that without going bonkers and I have quite a bit of support already from my breeder and local clubs.  I have my hands full with ONE breed doing primarily ONE thing.  I think Kimberly is genuine and means well but perhaps takes on too much at a time?  I actually see this a lot at my dog training clubs, maybe not to this extreme, but so often people come in with a new dog and have all these aspirations but training is expensive and time consuming and just plain hard, so that dog becomes a pet or gets rehomed and then another dog is purchased and the person starts from square one without achieving any of the previous goals.  Getting a new breed for a new activity doesn't solve the problem.  There's also the catch 22 where the most respectable breeders with high quality dogs are not interested in selling dogs to people who cannot make good on their commitments as far as showing and titling.  Pick one or two dogs and stick with it, even if you can just do a CGC or get a sympathy ribbon in a puppy match, those small steps are confidence boosters for the handler and the dog and inspire them to stick it out and keep it up.

I feel bad agreeing with everyone. I want so badly to be supportive of Kimberly, but enough is enough. There is a problem here and I don't think its a simple case of accidents and unavoidable circumstance going on. The vast number of dog turnover is only one issue going on in that household.

I for one would like to hear something positive about how JJ has been treating you, Kimberly. The number of dogs you had already stopped you from leaving him once, making it impossible to find a place to live. And then horrifically, you lost all but 2 of them. Now you've replace them and and added other critters? *sigh* I can't pretend to be supportive of these decisions either. I'm worried about you. And concerned for these pets.

Lies, I understand your point, & even agree with a large part of it, but there comes a time when someone needs to step in & say "enough is enough."

This is where I run into a problem.  How many dogs/breeds should someone be encouraged & supported to blow through before questioning them & their ability to care for their dogs?  I mean, 2-3 aussies, 2 vizslas, 3 Irish setters, a vizsla/transylvanian hound cross, a jrt, a chihuahua, a mixed breed, & a weim.  Not to mention the litters of puppies that she's fostered.  (I recall a litter of chihuahua pups that made me wonder....is Kujo spayed???)

My question for you, Lies, & Vanessa, is this....*If* you were a breeder, & Kimberly contacted you interested in one of your puppies, would you, knowing her track record, sell her a puppy?

Personally, I would not.  I would be terrified at the thought of one of my dogs going to her home.

I understand Stephanie, I just plain feel bad for her. I try very hard to look at the good in people and I just felt bad that anytime she posted, people responded similar to now (even though I understand why). I know her story, I really do, I'm just hoping maybe things will be better for her and her dogs this time.

I would not give her one of my dogs either Amanda if I was a breeder. *sigh* I would worry all the time if I did. I don't mind admitting that. I think there is some sort of underlying issue going on here. And I would be very sad to hear if anything happened to those dogs, so I want to hope the best for them.

No, I would not, and not even before these recent threads.

I could not agree more.  I was another one who was there to give my sympathy & support over the tragedies with her dogs, but so many bad things in such a short period of time...I can't help but be extremely concerned.
