Help me reach my goal.

    Help me reach my goal.

OK guys, I've been really good about not posting all over the board this year, BUT, we're going into the 2 week countdown and I'm STILL $195 short of my goal.  I need your help.

If you don't want to pledge online, pm me and I'll send you my mailing address.  Checks or money orders should be made out to the National MS Society.

I get nothing from doing this, except for the satisfaction of HELPING those who can no longer help themselves because of this horrible condition.  That and a few new blisters from the 6 mile walk!

If you can't spare much, send $5.  Every tiny little bit HELPS.  MS strikes mostly young women (20-40) literally in the PRIME of their lives.  We have a member here who has MS, my sister has MS, my DH's bosses wife has MS.....it's not a pretty condition and they say that a cure is within our lifetime.  Now, I'm getting old, and I really want to SEE that cure.  So help me reach my goal and HELP to find a cure.  Please.

It could be you who is diagnosed next.

Sent you an email for the information.

It is commendable what you do every year and yes I agree with you, it could happen to anyone. My best friend was just diagnosed with this MS and to top it off she has Lupus too. So sad.

I am just trying to get mine to go through, but my connection is being weird.  I will keep trying.

Good luck, I wish you a blister-free walk.

OK, I am getting "connection to host" problems, and I have to go out in a minute, but I will try again when I get back.  I support your cause and wish it could be more.

    Hi Glenda,

Thanks for doing this for those of us who have MS.  There are better treatments on the horizon, and $$$$$'s are what make the difference.

My family has formed a team to walk the 3 day on Cape Cod this fall, with a goal of raising $10,000, so I need to send my contributions their way.  I am not able to do the walk, but am going to be a support volunteer.  My niece, age 25, was recently diagnosed with MS.  I know that in my lifetime I will not see a cure, I hope that she does.

Best wishes on your fundraising and walk.

Thank you for working hard to help find a cure!  Vickie, our co-director, also has MS, and it is my pleasure to make a pledge for your walk today.  Wish it could be more.... Good luck and God Bless!!    ~ Julia

Julia, thank you for your pledge.  Gosh, in the craziness of trying to settle after the move, I haven't even had a chance to welcome you to idog, so will do that now....WELCOME.

Angela, don't give up hope to see that cure in YOUR lifetime.  I'm 52 and I'm wanting to see it in MINE.   I know that it's fairly recently been discovered that a particular SSRI HELPS and one other med that could be taken orally instead of having to be injected.......

I have never in my marriage asked DH to involve his radio stations in one of my causes...altho often he has.  When it came to the MS Walk, I got pushy and flat out insisted.  Not that I had to push hard, but we've done it every year and made a BIG deal out of it on air.  And even if we don't raise tons of money as a team, at the very least we are raising awareness and that's half the battle.

Kudo's to your family!!  What an awesome thing for them to do!

Oh, by the way, Willow, the chow who had such a ROTTEN start in life and is having soooo darned many health problems took time to send a donation and write me a sweet little note, and WILLOW challenges all doggies to do the same.  She says right this minute SHE is the top dog and she wants someone to challenge her for that position!

Jean, I absolutely don't want anyone to feel badly if they can't AFFORD to donate.
