Tuesday Chat

Back from my Small Business Development class and had a good time.  Sat next to a woman who is starting up an in-home personal training business so we exchanged phone numbers and emails so we can keep in touch and I'll see her next Tuesday at the next class. :)

Just a little under an hour before I leave for my volunteer orientation - YAY!

My son is looking forward to school starting, in a tremendous can't-hardly-stand-it kinda way. Seriously. He LIVES for rote, routine type stuff so these free flowing summer days have been majorly freaking him out. ADHD...gotta love it. LMBO!

This summer has felt very long. Not sure why. My Pretty Pony, time is always changning.

Most of the people I know who homeschool (and I do know a few) do have to spend more than three hours a day on lessons.

Well it was orientation stuff mostly, so we cruised right through it.

I'm home from work, thank goodness.  What a day.

    Good vibes for Star, Erica.

Paige, it never fails.  Just when you think you've got things figured out something throws a wrench in your plans.  Sending you good vibes for your tough decision.

I've got the dogs fed and need to change clothes and figure out somewhere to take my brother for dinner.  He's 60 today. :)  Neither of his two daughters that live in town seem to have made any plans to get together with him today. Sad

Jackie, please wish your brother a happy birthday from all of us.......

Gotta shut down and break down the computer for the big move to the next site......

I cannot be related to my Mom...seriously, I think I was adopted. We're complete opposites- and that's a GOOD thing. Tonight I walked down to my brothers football practice, took Apollo with me, and my parents were there (my Dad coaches). My Mom literally would not stop bitching about some women with 4 kids and 1 on the way, no father, on assistance programs, blah blah blah. Honestly, I don't care, I don't know who this women is. UGH! I tried to get her off that topic by saying, "Wow, Joe's doing good, huh?" or "Look at Dad out there, he's having a great time!" (my Dad really loves coaching). She just ignored me and kept on bitchin'. So, I had to leave :(

Back from the volunteer orientation and I'm **psyched**.  They are really excited to have me join the volunteer force given my skills and already talking about how I might be able to help redesign the volunteer dog training program!  I'm going in Saturday afternoon to get more training on working in adoptions helping facilitate meet n greets before starting to actually volunteer on Monday! Wheeeeee!

In other news, Maggie has apparently learned how to shut herself in the bathroom on purpose during storms lol - she was in there when I got home from the class this afternoon and DH says that it had to be on purpose as she's tried it before! Surprise

I actually got everything done that I wanted to do today.  I got a nice haul of game meat today for Sandy. I'm trying Maze on the game meat as well to add to her diet. Sandy LOVED it once she realized she could eat it. Lol.  I'm also going to be getting rabbit meat this fall. All for free!! *dances in a circle*

Can someone please come over and clean up my room for me. You don't need to do it today, you actually have a month. I just don't know when I am going to do it, or how I will get motivated.

Luke and the cat are having a fight through the door. I need a shower or something, and people need to realize I see lots of other people, and if they want extra of my time, they need to ask early.  The person who asked me two weeks in advance for specifically what extra hours I had available has 6 hours extra of my time this week, 8 hours next week, and 10 the week after that. The person who asked me non-specifically in the beginning of the summer, I might be able to give that person an extra 2, maybe 3 hours. I'm a busy person, and I see 6 different kids. I do a lot of traveling around to see all these people, and I like to try to pretend I have hobbies. Sometimes I even sleep.

I'm waiting for a call back from someone. Apparently, the client I wasn't sure if I was keeping had some nice stuff to say. I think that means maybe I am keeping this.

NJ people, what counties area the tri-counties?

Star went home today! A completely different dog when I walked in. I was SO happy to see her walk out, she had us really scared yesterday!!!

Dawn, can I come vacation with you? I promise to be quiet, & I'll even bring food. Please???

    Good thoughts for Gracie.

YAY for Star getting to go home!!!

    Fingers crossed for you Glenda!

The kids are in serious trouble right now. We have a "game room." I use that term loosely because it's located in an outbuilding on our property that's about 1/4 mile from our house. It's air conditioned, & currently is equipped with a pool table, some video games, & some other fun stuff that both the boys & DH love. The 4 wheelers & dirt bikes are also kept in the garage off of the building. It's essentially an oversized man cave.

Today, the boys & the nieces asked DH if they could go ride 4 wheelers. DH was busy at the time, so he told them that they would have to wait until later. Since he nixed their plans, they decided that they would go play in the game room. About 45 minutes later, DH heard 4 wheelers running in the distance. He walked down, & found all 4 kids racing across the pasture. DH says that their facial expressions, when they say him, were priceless. Once everything was put away, they marched back up to the house to call & let me know what had happened.

To say the least, I was, & still am, pissed. They are all grounded for the next week, which means that there will be no time for play. I have all ipods, DS, the wii, & ps3 are put away. They have no tv privileges. They also have a chore list for the next week. My house is going to be spotless, as is the barn, before this week is over....

I used A & D and cortisone on my kittens' butts, when they got constipated and reeaaallly irritated from the new potty routine, when I brought them home. They were tinies, though, so it might be different. It helped, tremendously. They're 6 weeks, now, and fat and healthy. So healthy, the big one has started PICKING ON my Bean!

Glenda, good luck with the house hunt.  Be sure to show us a pic of it. Smile

Erin, you are so not a bad DIL.  I wouldn't think of plying someone with decorative gifts unless I could get them to go shopping with me for some input.  Do you think she'd switch to gift cards instead?  That way you could get what you like and then show her what *she bought* for you.

    Well, that's great news!!

Gracie gets to add to the great news - vets did a full osteo exam and felt there are no issues. I may be a smidge bit of a hypochondriac, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.  I'm in something of a worried state since her brother was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and I cried at the vet's office as I told them.  They gave me tramadol to help with any pain (just in case), it was time for a rabies vaccination anyway, so it wasn't a complete "waste" if you will.  I feel so much better - and I felt confident in this vet's competance before we even got too far into the exam.  Anyway, she's good and I feel so much relief for a hundred bucks.  (Now she's a jingly dog with her tag - hasn't had a tag on in eons!)  Thanks again for the good thoughts, all!

Ummm, WOW!  That was really a stupid and dangerous thing to do.  I'm so glad no one got hurt.

Good for you and your DH.  Children really need to know that when they screw up like that there WILL be consequences.
