    Tuesday m/c

Not much excitement here.  It's supposed to be super hot and humid today.  This morning we have fog.

Maybe I will think of something later.  So far, all quiet on the midwestern front, which is always good!

Sammy's hard head + my hand = owie owie.  :(

It was raining this morning so DH slept in since he can't drive the test electric car in the rain just yet.  Bum.

    That's about it around here.

Can someone tell me why every other freakin' show on TV these days is about cupcakes??  What's so special about cupcakes??  Sheesh anybody can make cupcakes.  Even if they're all these new-agey flavors like strawberry & bacon, it's still just a freakin' cupcake that any seven year old can make !!!

OK - I'll be quiet now.

I don't know why.  I don't understand cupcakes.  In Ann Arbor, there is an entire eatery devoted to cupcakes; they serve nothing else.

I personally hate making cupcakes because I hate frosting each individual one.  Tedious.

I don't like the 6 inches of decorator frosting on top.  I hate commercial frosting, it is nothing but shortening and sugar.  If I wanted to eat Crisco, I'd open a can.

It seems much easier to me to make a cake and frost it.

    That is all.

Oh the days of kids b'days and having to do cupcakes for classmates!  Sooooo very glad that those are gone!

It's a little warm and sticky here today, but all I have to do is check the temps down in DFS FL and I'm NOT complaining!

It is PEACEFUL here!!  DS realized that we simply can't handle the walks without the hubby around and willingly got up to do the walks.  What a huge, huge difference!  No noise and fussing, and I'm not a ball of nerves.

I'M going to have a great day, hope that everyone else does as well.

I'm not a fan of cupcakes (or cake for that matter to be honest), so I don't get it either! I would be a fan of anyone who can get me a frozen margarita. Right now. I don't care that it's only 9am and I'm working....I'm 2 1/2 hours into my work day and I'm already beyond frustrated.

I am so with you on the margarita Sharon. I have had it with my work. My co-worker does NOTHING day in and day out. It's so frustrating. This morning she phoned and said she wouldn't be in, she's sick. Well maybe if she didn't smoke a pack or two a day she wouldn't be so sick. I have the same fricken cold and I am doing fine, sans drugs. I specifically told her she better be in today to do her rush file - that I didn't want to be stuck with it again. This is not nearly the first time she's left me with her last minute I'm too lazy to do things ahead of time crap. She might be getting an earful tomorrow.

I love cupcakes, there really is a difference in them though! Some frostings taste so gross and sugary and processed and some are just delightfully good and I could sit down and eat a dozen cupcakes all by myself. I can't stand all the shows on them though - although I've only seen one, The Cupcake Girls or something, it was terrible.

I love cupcakes.  I love everything about cupcakes.  Big Smile   I wish I had a cupcake right this minute.  Chocolate with buttercream frosting.

Not much exciting going on around here.  It's going to be very hot again today.  I have a funeral to attend today.  The internment is at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetary.  My Dad is buried there but I've never visited his grave.  I plan to take an entire box of tissues and I know I will need every single one.

BIG hugs - my dad died when I was 20 and I never had a desire to visit his grave.  Then when I was about 28 the man in my life encouraged me to do it and went with me.  I don't think I've cried like that before or since.  Sending you all my strength today.

I am happy to say i have a little less on my plate today - I was very productive yesterday Big Smile

I've already taken B swimming - Jackie I am uploading a video for you - so close, so very close he is LOL

Didn't read any other posts yet so no doubt i'll be back

edit: no cupcakes for me - I'd rather have a nice chewy oatmeal cookie

Oh the days of kids b'days and having to do cupcakes for classmates!  Sooooo very glad that those are gone!

They are about gone for EVERYONE, Glenda. You can't bake anything anymore and bring it to class for anyone but your own kid. Gotta be store bought which is A-OKAY with me! I like to bake...for my family of 4...not for 20+ kids! LOL! Not sure how E's teacher last year managed to get them all baking pancakes and muffins etc last year...she must've pulled some strings.

Sully's doing great at night, sleeping 11pm to about 6-7pm already, clean in his crate and only a couple accidents inside (our fault)....he already knows what go potty means and will do it outside when you ask him. Cleo and he played a lot last night, he is beginning to trust her more I think.

Elias only has one TBall game this week that being today...another hot one, no doubt!

Lily got invited by her friend to a baseball game Friday and I am jealous. Elias's little family birthday party is that night too.

((hugs)) to Jackie and anyone else who needs em!

I love cupcakes, but I hate storebought ones- the icing is usulaly crap- and the boutique ones have WAY too much icing. There's a recipe in one of the Barefoot Contessa books for coconut cupcakes that I LOVE- they're very light and NOT super sweet. The book recipe calls for coconut icing, which I thought was kind of meh. I put dark chocolate fudge icing (yes, storebought) on them instead and it's like a buttery, fluffy Mounds bar. YUM.

Also, has anyone seen my winning lottery ticket? I owuld like to be independently wealthy now please. It owuldn't solve all my problems but it sure wouldn't hurt!

I have never been to my dads grave either but I don't really get why we bury our dead in the first place. Cremation makes more sense to me.

I have a migraine brewing. No doubt because its 100 percent humidity and hot.

Lily tried to wake me up Last night to go out but I refused to get up thinking she just wanted to go out and hunt for the possum. Well, I was wrong and woke up to pee on the floor. Bad me.

I like homemade cupcakes, but not commercial ones for some of the reasons mentioned above.

Anyone miss me?  I was visiting my parents in Indiana last week and didn't have a chance to get here to post at all and only browsed a few times!

Our visit was great - got to see a few good friends, worked on the marketing plan for my training business (yay! and if anyone wants to review the tagline for me, let me know lol), all three dogs came along and we got to go hiking at our old haunts (I even got pics of Kes retrieving in the lake), I got an iPhone (my first data phone ever and I lurves it) , bummed around my home town with my mom, visited friends in Ohio, and spread the last of my childhood dog's ashes. 9 days full of variety for sure!  I'll post some pics later today if they turned out aok (on my iPhone).

Today I have to write up my "To Do" list for my startup and get cracking on a few items - this week my goal is to actually "go to work" each week day for at least 4 hours, hopefully more like 6 or 8 once I get into the swing of things (starting tomorrow since today is my first day back at home after my trip).  Wish me luck!
