Monday for the mindless

    Monday for the mindless

DS was gone all weekend, so I am mentally rested.

Hopefully Glenda can check in soon.

Karen, I'll say it again -  you done good by Red.  He'll be fine, and so will you.

Jackie, Munchkin has worked her magic on you, I see.

Deb, how'd you do at the track yesterday?  Are you even here today?

I hope everyone else is well.

Planning my next weekend with my friend for Labor Day.  He sounded pretty bummed that it'll be a whole month, but I told him it was the best I could do finance-wise.  Off to book the pet sitter since DS made plans, too.  And, of course, to put in for a half day vacation so I can actually head out at a decent time on that Friday.

Made friends with a very ball-obsessed pibble at the shelter yesterday.  Unfortunately he is dog aggressive and if his owner doesn't claim him, I'm sure he'll be euth'd.  I'm bummed, but know I cannot handle a DA dog at this point in my life.

I can't find my drivers license and have no clue how long it's been missing, lol.  I now do Schutzhund training at a police dept. and nearby is a military base with a lot of land around their airport.  We wanted to use their fields for tracking, and they said we can as long as we get clearance to be on the base, so we had to give them our license numbers for a background check.  I went to my purse to get mind, couldn't find it anywhere!  Luckily I had some other paperwork in my glove box that has my number (I don't have it entirely memorized).  Now I'm trying to decide how long I look for it vs. going to SOS and getting a new one over lunch...

I am most assuredly mindless today. That is all.

I won $85 at the track.  It only took me about $360 to win the $85.  Baffert's horse Looking at Lucky wound up winning the Haskell.  I stuck with First Dude and he came in third, but I had him across the board so at least I was able to cash in a Haskell ticket.

I'm kind of here, but not really.

    same here

Lies thought of you when Bugsy stuck his nose up one of those caterpillars that spray stink and sure enough he got 'skunked' made me chuckle and didn't keep him from sticking his head in there again LOL

Sooooooo much to do and so mindless

Tina, I'm glad you got a break from the boy.   As for Munchkin (not sold on that name, btw) she'll be here unless I find her a home.  That is still an option that hasn't been ruled out.  I know it's hard for some to understand but I don't have a problem rehoming a dog if it's one I took in because it was in need of a temporary home.   If I find the right home, off she goes.   That might take years though.......lol

I'm feeling pretty mindless myself but that's not reserved for Mondays.

We're about to leave for a 2-day road trip, and BF is being a mopey pain. I am annoyed. I finally told him to stop acting like he's dying (because he's soooooo tired) because I'm not a necrophiliac and I don't appreciate corpses. I then told him to take a nap for 20 minutes, and if he doesn't change his tune after that, we will sit down and have A TALK. Maybe I'll leave him home and take his mom on vacation instead. Jeebus!

I understand, trust me, or I might still have Harley the weiner dog.

Courtney, leave the BF at home, take me!  Stick out tongue

Blech!  Those caterpillars sure have a leg up as far as evolution!  They are nasty lol!

I got quite a bit of sleep last night, and still woke up dead tired. I set my alarm to get up and go skate... but then rolled over an missed the session.

On the plus side, I'm getting a new aussie foster tomorrow!

    I need coffee.

Mindless and tired here too. I normally get a lot of rest on the weekends and a nap or two but not this weekend and we stayed up too late last night. I really don't feel ready for the week to start all over again.  My boss is playing in a golf tournament today, so at least I'll have the office to myself.

DH is taking Sassy in for her vet appt this morning. I left him a list of what tests they need to run but I'm 100% sure that I'll get a call from either him or a vet tech with questions. They're retesting to see if the her protein levels are normal and I'm not sure what the next path will be if they're low. I'm also anxious to see if she's put on a little weight. Her last appt 2 months ago, she was down to 70 (normal is 78ish), so I hope she hasn't lost anymore weight. She looks the same to me, but I stink at estimating stuff like that. DH thinks she's gained but he stinks at estimating too.

Was Glenda supposed to arrive at their destination today?

Paige - I must've missed it. Are you moving back to NH?

I was wondering the same 2 things, :)   I miss so much  on the weekends, lol!

My neighbor was released from the Mayo but is staying in a nearby motel for a few more days.  He is feeling much better but the trip home will be a very long one and he has been told no more than two hours in the car at one time without stopping to exercise.   I think they said it was an 8 hour trip so it may take a few days to get home.

Mom is feeling some better.  She was sick right after taking meds yesterday (which is not really like her)  said she thinks it was because it had been too long after she had breakfast.  Today she will have a cracker with her meds.

Hugs to those that need them.

aww I would've bet on Lucky...Baffert's brother is a very well known Beagle breeder, he has Alamo Beagles in California. He's quite ill right now from what I understand...but because of the Hound connection I always favor Baffert horses.

Crazy spur of the moment wedding in the family this Sat, still in recovery mode. I did some pictures and it was outside and it was SO HOT I cannot even believe how much I sweated!

Making some arrangements, that will hopefully make me very happy so good day so far!

Ahem, I thought her name was Poppy?  Dog

As for me moving or not - nothing's decided.  Since I got no bites on sharing the place I'm in now, I have to move somewhere by the end of this month.  It's either another place here in CO closer to work, or if something come through for somewhere else in the meantime...

I slept past my alarm because I was having a nightmare this morning.  Luckily, I'm in really early for my shift most days.  Was told 8-5, but since we don't clock out for lunch, it's 8-4.  Most days I'm in at 7:35, so 8:15 is no big deal.  I've been fairly productive so far this morning.  Just  a few things to deal with and then a project will keep me busy most of the day, I suspect.

Hope everyone is well.  Happy August - where the heck did July go??

Munchkin is a great name, Jackie!

Hope Glenda and fam are traveling safely.

All you wise ones... I need some wisdom.  They took out my wisdom teeth so I'm lacking LOL.  I will graduate with my Master's in Dec.  My "real" boss promised me, at my review last month, a bump up in level at that point.  This particular bump up, would equal a 20% increase in pay.  The evil admin woman tells me she won't start any paperwork until I have the degree in hand, and "who knows what the finances will be like."  I would stay here with the appropriate compensation, but if not, would definitely seek other employment opportunities.  I say "real" boss because we work closely with his mentor, and the mentor has been known to be a PITA at times, and very cheap.  I'm sure he would want the moon before I would get an increase if left to him.

Now, normally, this would be all fine and dandy whichever way it works out.  However, DH and I really want to start trying for kids soon.  The ony reason we've waited this long, is for me to graduate.  I know at least 6 women, not including those on this forum, who are pregnant and it's becoming contagious, LOL.  So any advice on how to balance the work issues with trying for kids?  I don't want to be interviewing and pregnant, but neither do I prefer to wait a while I get settled at a new job.  I would prefer to stay here, with the increase in pay, but won't accept staying here without something in return for the master's, because I feel like it would be that much harder to get a higher-paying job later if I "settle" for this one even with a master's.

OK, now I need to break out the Oreo's and homemade chocolate chip banana bread.  Big Smile
