Neuticles anyone?

I am just looking to see if anyone out there has heard of or has their dog neutered with neuticles. For anyone who does not know they are artificial testicular inplants for dogs who do not want to look any different after surgery. I know of only one person who had then ( well, i mean their dog did). They come in all sizes and according to the web site have sold 10's of thousands of pairs. Does anyone think this is cool or just plain crazy? They also have a web store to buy all kinds of Neuticles gifts. What will they think of next?

I think it's nuts (pun intended). I don't really think the dog really misses his nuts. It's more a cosmetic thing that, to me, is a sincere effort to turn a quick buck.

I think it's moronic. The dogs couldn't care less about their missing testicles. It's the idiot humans who put so much value onto them. The only time I would consider them worthy if someone wanted to neuter their dog but their partner was against it. If getting the dog neutered, therefore preventing unwanted litters reducing/elimating reproductive health issues, and having Neuticles put in place so their partner is clueless and still has balls to look at/feel on then I can see the value in having them.

When I first saw them advertised (well over 10 years ago), I was thinking almost the same as meilani. About the only reason I could come up with for someone buying them was so they'd be able to show a neutered dog in confirmation.

I have seen a neuticled dog and inspected the "goods". Of course the owner was a man. Some women in the obedience class and myself were discussing how silly they were when one of the men in class told us his dog had them. It is definately a man thing.

I think it would be pretty tragic if your dog was picked up by Animal Control and they thought it needed to be neutered only to find...........

Sofia doesn't miss her uterus or ovaries. Heck, I wouldn't miss MINE, either. (Take my uterus................please! badump tsssh [8D]). But you don't see anyone offering to give a female dog a fake uterus. Feh. It's stupid if you ask me.

My husband found the website...we joke about it all of the time! We like to threaten Marley with it "Do you want neuticles?" (Of course we wouldn't do that).

The friend I knew that had gotten them was a woman and they were for her GSD who did SAR work. She didn't want her dog to look different than the other dogs in the field who were not fixed I guess. She often seemed proud that he has them. I mentioned em to a dog breeder friend of mine, a guy, and he thought it was outrageous! We often joke about Upsizing, maybe your Boston Terrier would wanna move up to Lab sized, lol. After all women get breast augmentation...

I think its just plain crazy! Just some way for someone to try an make money but hey if it doesn't hurt the dog in any way an the person who thought of it is actually making a profit for their idea tham I guess they weren't that crazy when they thought of it.

I only know one person who used them in her Akita...this was years ago. The were SO hard and unyeilding they rubbed the skin from the INSIDE of the scrotum resulting in bruising and tearing and another surgery to remove them and then some antibiotics to clear up the resultant infection [:-]

Neuticles make me think that I'm a moron for having an honest job. It's like...people are just DYING to buy useless stuff. Maybe I'll market those fake uteri.....

I doubt the dogs miss their hoohas, and I doubt the females miss their uteruses (I wouldn't miss mine!)

Even though Talus still has his own, I would never replace them with fake ones....I doubt that any female dog would be asking "Does he or doesn't he....only Neuticles knows...."

I think they're nuts, too. Definitely a *male owner issue*. I remember seeing a guy on TV a few months ago with his dog and his vet. He was actually in tears because of how bad his dog felt about not looking like a man and how ashamed he (thedog) felt because of the way the other dogs were looking at him and snickering at him. Geez. I never noticed Max standing in front of the mirror and bemoaning his loss of manhood. I don't think he ever knew he had 'em and he for sure never acted like he mised 'em.
