Scout earns his first Rally novice leg

Scout earned his first Rally Novice leg today at a weimaraner specialty. He scored a 97 out of a possible 100 .  He placed first out of all the novice dogs. I'm so proud of him.

We would have an additional brag in regular obedience but he thinks sit stays are for losers.   He went into a down during the long sit. Something he has never until the past month(the stinker).  I could have killed him(not literally), but we would have qualified otherwise.  Nevertheless I'm pleased with our debut! The next one is next weekend when we travel out to NY to a show there, and to visit with his breeder I get to see all his brothers & Sisters!!!!!

    Congrats!

I have to admit I have no experience whatsoever with your breed, I am not even sure I have ever seen one in person, but I have to say that that is one regal looking dog. [:)]

Thanks everybody for your congrats! I'm so proud! Looks like this coming weekend will be a good competition.  Rally novice a has 7 entries, and regular obedience novice a has about the same. Novice B has like 35-40 entries in both events.  Glad we're in novice A!

We have also been practicing 10 minute sit-stays. He only broke twice.  Each time he correct himself as I walked towards. I went to him and correct his position(straighter) told him to sit and stay.  So we'll work through it.  Tonight we have class and he's going to have to do the sit stay while everyone else is doing a down stay.  Gotta get him to understand that sit-stay means SIT and STAY(not stay and do whatever he wants;o))

Way to go Scout!! Congrats to the both of you!!![sm=dance.gif][sm=dance.gif]

I know what you mean with the sit and stay. Blue hated to stand and stay he would either try to come to me or he would try to sit down while staying there. I hope Scout learns the meaning of Sit and Stay.
