Hey, it keeps the vampires away.

That's good, because I think I'm leaning towards Team Werewolf.

So yesterday was just a good day all around :)  I had to go to my lawyers office w/ a 3rd party who could verify the STBX and I have been separated over 1 year.  I brought FH and we were sworn in.  The lawyer asked us both questions for about 10 minutes (and her asking FH if he had any knowledge of STBX and I 'cooking' Ick! in the past year was a bit akward).  Everything was taped.  The tape has to go to the guy from the court who swore us in.  He types it up and gives it to the judge.  The judge has to hold it for 10 days.  On day 11 he signs it and I am *finally* divorced!!!!!!!

    :::happydance:::

And since we were down that way, we went a little farther and stopped by my Dad's.  I got the biggest shock.  I walked in and my Dad was sitting at the table playing with is phone.  It looked like he was texting, so I peered over his shoulder and OMGG he was!  My father was sending a text message!  This is huge!  He was always saying "don't text me, I'll never look at it" "I'd rather just call someone" etc.  And now he's texting.  Part of it is that they have bad signal and he's a truck driver and isn't always in a location with good signal and he has found that he can send a text even if he couldn't make a call.

    But wait....there's more.

He then pulls out his little purple netbook.  Ok, for this man, a computer has never been more than an overpriced deck of cards and that got old for him 6+ years ago.  Now he's got a netbook?!?  It's awesome.  And he's so proud of himself.  He got the biggest grin when he told me that he's on FaceBook now.  He was thrilled to post a comment on my status.  :D

It seems to make him happy to be learning how to use these gadgets and he's really liking them.  Its funny b/c I'll start explaining something and he's like, nope, that's too much right now, I'm going ssssllllllooooowwwww.

:D  Even just typing that improved my mood today.  FH and I are fighting and it has me in a really down mood.

Gorgeous today, but I think it's gonna be a warm one since it's only 11 a.m. and it's already around 70.

Paige ... no I haven't been holding out on you.  Yes, as a matter of fact my youngest son is single and he's 33. I'd post a pic of him but you know I'm too computer witless to figure out how to do that.  Big Smile

Short good news of the day. My parents talked to my sister, and also I guess spoke to the psychiatrist she used to see, until she left that facility. It sounds like my sister will be headed home sometime soon based on the conversation. She realizes she needs a lot of help, although the few days on her own seemed to be somewhat good for her. She did her own laundry, she cooked her own food. However, she realized that without a job, she can't get her own place. Without prior work experience, it's hard to get a job, especially right now. All she has done is volunteer stuff that she has left abruptly. She's been being encouraged by multiple sources to get a volunteer job and stick with it for quite a while. Maybe now she'll realize that this is really important.

Other good stuff, I got a baby star wars shirt today in old navy. If she doesn't have a boy, I'm just putting that away until some friend does. She doesn't really like star wars, but she's getting it if she's having a boy. I'm also the turtle fan, which I also got some of. That I'll take back though if we're guessing wrong.

Off to see what happened with other people.

Hoping it doesn't rain Saturday during the day, or at least not torrential downpour and lightning like this morning. I've got rafting scheduled, and I don't want it to get canceled.

He's perfect!  Where can I pick him up? lol  (I turn 34 the end of this month.)

It's 95 degrees here.  I'm sure the A/C is working over time.  I feel badly, I didn't leave the TV on for Gracie.  She's been reeaaally bored lately, and it's been too hot in the evenings when I get home from work to let her run at the park.  Getting up any earlier than I already am at 5:45am is just, well, less than appealing.  I think it's time for Nina Ottosson toys.

Well I'm going to my trial after all! My client called this morning and canceled. I'm ok with that.  Kinda depressed about the lack of money but meh!!

Joyce?  At 11 its 70 degrees and gonna be hot???  Here it doesn't GET as low as 70 degrees!  The coolest it's been was Sunday morning around 5AM it was 75.  By 11 AM here, it was 92 today.  Blech.

Having one of those days that I'm busy all the time but have nothing accomplished.  Sigh.....back to it I guess.

Pssst. Might be getting another Weim. He's Luger's brother and the people that took him might have to give him up. Sad for them but I would be happy to take him.

Glenda, those temps probably wouldn't bother you nearly as much if it weren't for the doG awful humidity you have to deal with on top of it. We'd never say *blech* for a temp of 92. Big Smile

When we were in the Central Valley (Merced area) once it got over 90 I was done.  Even as a child I simply did not tolerate heat well.  80 is my absolute top comfort level, and only then with a good breeze.  But, yes, the humidy here is brutal and there are days that being outside makes breathing an enormous effort.

We missed the record temp for today by 2 degrees.  It "only" reached 98.  Our A/C at work died in the afternoon - it was blowing warm air on another tenant, who opted to shut it off for the entire building.  Awesome.

Aesop has bone chips in his elbow. He's now set up with pain meds to take as needed, joint supplements, and a liver supplement as he had a slightly elevated value on his premed bloodwork.  (we'll be retesting the value in a few weeks)  My counter looks like a medicine cabinet.

    Congrats, Steph!!!!!!!

    Glenda, any news?

Chyna is 50-55 pounds. Not light, but carry-able if need be.

Bev caught a small shark today. It was a little over 2 foot long. I nearly had a coronary.

We went crab hunting this evening. Nothing says "cooking nuts" quite like 4 people driving down the beach on a rtv, diving out to chase a crab around with a kids sand castle bucket... We hunted for about 2 hours. I have one large cut across the side of my foot & a huge blister, even though I was barefoot. We only caught 3 crabs & I am sure that I will be regretting the entire thing in the morning.
