A creepy experience

    A creepy experience

I needed some Frontline so at lunch I ran to a vet#%92s office that I#%92d seen near my workplace.

The place was freaky! I walked in, it was deserted and almost completely dark. Instead of turning and running like my instincts said I called out and this creepy looking, creepy acting filthy guy, covered in who knows what, walked up. I told him what I needed and he got it but he didn#%92t have a credit card machine so he had to call it in. All this time a dog is whining in the back. The guy got progressively more frustrated to the point that he was sitting up front on the phone with me right in front of him but SCREAMING at the dog to “shut the hell up”. At this point I really wanted to leave and not spend anything with him, but they#%92d already run my card so I took the product and left. The building was odd, all the area I could see was empty, no displays or posters or waiting chairs or anything. The place was clean but the experience left me feeling like I needed to go home and take a shower. And maybe call animal control. He was so angry that I#%92m concerned for the animals if he#%92s the only one there with them.

eeeeeeeeeeee! That sounds really suspicious and very scary! I'd call AC right away, and maybe someone else, too. The local Vet Association? Something is not right!!

I would have been wierded out too Sooner.  When I'm in an uncomfortable situation like that, I usually try to put a spin on it so it doesn't seem so bad.  Maybe they were getting ready to close down their office for good so things were packed away and he was short-handed?  Doesn't really account for his personal nastiness but maybe things weren't as they appeared?  And could be he was stressed/sad/mad/upset/frustrated about the clinc closing?  It certainly couldn't hurt to call animal control though.

I wish I could convey exactly how strange it was. I got a bad feeling as soon as I walked in the door. I usually don't pay attention to such things, but this was so different and such a strong feeling.

The place has been there as long as I've worked on this side of town, 10+ years under the same name. I guess it could be that they're moving or something. I prefer to believe that anyway.

You know, you could call the Better Business Bureau and see if any complaints have been lodged against them. Likewise with the local veterinary governing board. You know, kind of get an idea what their reputation is.

I tend to want to find out about bad feelings like this, rather than try to make myself feel better. You might save some dogs' lives.

I've been looking for who to call... I'm not going to let it go by. Better safe than sorry.

That would make me wonder if it were really a vets office or just a front for something creepy and sinister. *sigh* Or maybe I just stay up too many late nights watching creepy stuff  on TV.  In any case, it certanly couldn't hurt to have someone check the place out.

It sure doesn't seem like the kind of place that anyone would want to take their pets for treatment.[:'(] Maybe they charge very low fees so people who aren't particular about the vet their pet sees are willing to take their pets there.

I'd get AC to go over there and check things out.

I agree with what others have allready said that atleast call and have AC check them out or call BBB and see if any complaints have been filed. The guy sounds like a jerk to act that way at all and in front of a customer nonetheless. Hopefully you're able to find out something.

I got all creeped out by reading your post, Sooner.  I agree with everyone.  Call AC or BBB to make sure things are on the up & up.

That sounds scary!!  Kelly - glad you made it out of there alive!  ... why would anyone entrust their dog to such a weird place?  I hope that it was just a bad moment.  Keep us posted.

Just checking in to see if anything had been posted in regards to the inquiry of this crazy place.
