I think I'm going to go float for a while.

    Wait for me!

... did someone say DRINK! Maybe that is what I need? Been sitting watching the G20 protesters smash and burn my city. DS is working down in the area. He should have been home by now. Starting to get a bit anxious.

Oh no, that sounds awful.... (I clearly haven't been paying attention to the news...)  Good thoughts for your son.

JENNIE AND BEAN!!!  WOOOHOOO!!!  And where can we find your thread to announce her results and piccies (if possible - although, I rarely have pics of us competing because I go alone and am waaay too busy/focused to consider picture-taking...)

I feel almost ashamed to say I woke up at 7, was up for about half an hour, then went back to sleep until noon.  I felt like I was getting sick, so I think my body took it upon itself to address that with some sleep.  After not working for a matter of weeks, then getting up at 6 to leave the house at 6:50am probably contributed, too - even though I did try to go to bed by 10 each night.

Good vibes for those competing, etc.  Whoo, floating in the pool after all that hard work sounds like a well-deserved rest, Barb.  So good to hear the conversation w/your sisters went so well!

The G20 was a mess last year.  It was later in the year, and in the middle of a few college campuses and there were just peopel everywhere, and protests and police.  Ugh.  glad it won't happen again, at least for a long, long time!

The dog we're watching had us up at midnight, 2am, 4am and 6am.  Ugh.  I hope he gets used to being here pretty soon.

I'd like a drink to float with, please.

I'm so tired of running the shelter by myself. I'm tired of people's complaining, I'm tired of people calling me on my personal cell phone for work related things, I'm tired of people not following throw with what they say they are going to do, I'm tired of people doing their own thing, I'm tired of sitting inside with no AC, I'm tired of people getting on my case for things I have no control of, I'M JUST TIRED OF IT ALL!

    //rant.

I think I tore something in my shoulder/collar bone area. I reached behind my seat while driving - and SCREAMED in pain. Poor Sneakers didn't know what to do! I almost had to pull over. It still hurts if I try to lift my arm over my head.... but I can still move it, and my neck. Very strange.

Ummmm peaches!  My favorite "cooking" fruit.  Peaches and I have a history.  I'm surprised DH doesn't call me "peaches"  Embarrassed

I'm soooo curious, but afraid to ask......

We finally finished cutting up the cow.  I think that my hand is going to fall off.  We ended up putting 723 pounds of meat into the freezer.  We also kept all of the bones for chews.  DH is attempting to tan the viable hide.  I read about the process, & decided that my stomach was not going to be able to handle it.  If he pulls it off, it will be a miracle.

    • Gold Top Dog

uh oh, Erica.  That sounds like a rotator cuff.

Amanda, my dogs are VERY envious of all those bones.

Barb?  That sounds like a great idea for your Mom if sis agrees.

    Jennie.....great job!!

Anyone I missed....sorry....blame it on the stress of the past week.  Or a senior moment.  Either one works.  Tongue Tied

I was a good girl and did the laundry today.  In our absence, the dogs decided to start blowing coat.  Our bed was soooo furry last night!  Blech.  I have a second set of sheets in here for it, but, just one comforter and no spare pillow cases, since Tyler comes to bed when I go and has been sneaking chews on dads pillows.  Or rather the cases, so I'm down to whats on the pillows.  I could have gone out to the pole barn and found the bin that the sheets are in, which would have required some climbing around, and left the laundry for tomorrow, but, I still would have had to go tomorrow anyway, so.......

Must have hit a good time because there were very few people in the place and NO screaming children for a change.  FIVE of the big washers full.  Usually I have two.  The washers are quick...16 minutes...but the danged dryers take FOREVER.  But, it's done and that means tomorrow I'll be able to "just" vacume and work on brushing out dogs.  AND do some major relaxing.  I don't relax as well until I feel like I've "earned" it.

Now, how about another drink???  THAT I've earned today!

Good vibes/thoughts to those who need them!

I got to use our new ChuckIt and whistle balls this evening.  ChuckIts do indeed rock! Big Smile That is all! lol

    • Gold Top Dog

I'm curious about the peaches as well...

Went to a store that sells items that have packages damaged in shipping. Got a breadknife for $2 . They also sell food that is close to or slightly past it's expiration date. Now, I'm picky and wouldn't eat it, but I got some barely past the date granola and banana chips that the rats will find a fantastic addition to their mix.

Stopped at the groomer's and got an appt for Newt. I hate dropping my dogs off places, so I'm going to have anxiety about this issue until I pick her up after her appt on Tuesday. At least I can admit that that's sad on my part. I'll have to find a pic of the haircut I want, so I can show them and yet not sound demanding or irksome. (I think "don't shave the face too high or give her a short topknot!! said in frantic tones would be a bit overkillEmbarrassed)

I'm afraid of the peaches story lol

Amanda, did you ever see the Dirty Jobs episode where they went to a hide tanning place? OMG talk about disgusting. Best of luck to your DH on that one.

I totally understand not liking leaving Newt at the groomer's.  I'm always afraid that something may go wrong, & I'll come back to a scalped dog.  (That actually happened last time I had Angel groomed.)

My baby bro is now the proud owner of a very sweet blue dobergirl!  He picked her up today, & they stopped by on the drive home, so that we could say hi.  I am already in love with her!  I think that I'm going to make her a welcome home basket tomorrow.

There are no pictures. I was so busy focusing on keeping us both caaaaaallllm and happy, that nothing else happened, LOL.  She got an 86 in excellent (would have been a 96 if I had said WAIT on the honor instead of just walking away like an idiot!), and a 96 in advanced. She worked extremely well, and maintained focus past a vented door closet with the A/C intake in it (monsters in the closet, anyone?). The bar jump did try to bite her, in excellent, so she had that retry, and in advanced, she had to retry on the sit, down, walk around. She read the sign, and just laid down. We've worked through a lot of garbage in the last two months, and I am *SO* proud!!!!

I haven't seen it, but when DH started saying that "we" needed urine, ashes, & dog poo to get the process started, I let him know that this wasn't a "we" project, & that I wanted to know nothing about it.

ETA:  Way to go, Bean & Jennie!!!
