Petco Trainer, URGH! (BlackLabbie)

LMAO! I love it! Nevermind that a "correct" down doesn't include rolling over on your hip, that is beside the point. Why would you EVER argue with a customer??

I had an "interesting" conversation with a Petsmart "trainer" about Cher today.  Angry

Seriously, how can you say that, and then not tell us what happend? Stick out tongue

Because it probably won't make much sense once the Forum Word Censor kicks in...

Thank you Paige.  I know have lemonade on my computer...

Chelsea, it was just stupidity on the "trainer"'s part.  All of our guys have a "sprawl" command where they lay out, broadside, on the floor.  I had Cher sprawled out on the floor in PetSmart yesterday while I was picking through cans of cat food to find the flavor that the cat will actually eat.  The trainer, whose name badge said "PetSmart...Daniel...Dog Trainer-in training" walked up & immediately told me that my dog wasn't "doing down right."  I ignored his first comment, & told him to go away.  Then he decided that it was a good idea to point out the "wrong down" again.  I asked him if "Dog Trainer-in training" meant that he hadn't read the entire manual yet?  After that, he decided to tell me that I was "completely confusing your dog by not teaching it properly".  (Cher was still sprawled at this time.)  I told him that she wasn't in a down, she was in a sprawl, which was exactly what I had asked for.  Apparently he didn't comprehend, because he, then, tried to explain what a proper down looked like.  At that point, I was getting pissed, so I called Cher up from her sprawl & into a down, which she knows how to do.  He looked at her, & then told me that the down wasn't right because she wasn't totally down on her hip.  Ummmm no, she's in a proper down.

At any rate, he wanted to argue, & I wanted to insult him, so we went at it until he decided to try to win the arguement by yelling over me.  The manager & one of his assistant managers ended up coming over to see what the problem was.  They ended up having to remove the trainer in training because he was too stupid to shut up & leave.  It attracted a small crowd, left the trainer looking like a jerk, & left the managers scrambling to do damage control.

WOW!! I cannot believe that this employee went so far as to argue with you. Granted, I work in retail, in a pharmacy, and do not believe "the customer is always right" however, he was completely in the wrong to sit there and argue with you. The minute you expressed you were not interested in any "training" tips he had to offer was the minute he should've walked away and left you alone. What's with Petsmart employees? I encountered a mouthy one myself. Last year, I was in the process of paying for my stuff when the employee noticed my sweater, which is a Chicago Cubs sweater, and my checks, which has the Cubs logo, and says with a big poop eating grin on her face...

Cashier: "I see you're a fan of the second best team in the city."

Me: "No, I'm not a White Sox fan."

At that point, the poop eating grin disappears and she attempts to push my buttons again...

Cashier: "I'm a HUGE White Sox fan. I TOTALLY love them. They're the best team. I'm all about the Sox."

Me: "I'm sorry to hear that."

    Cashier: "Real funny."

Me: "I was actually sincere about that. Have a nice day!"

Now, for those who don't know, the Cubs and Sox rivalry is big in the city of Chicago. I find it's more a problem for Sox fans than Cubs fans because most Cubs fans do not care enough about the Sox to keep up with them. Anyways, she may have been trying to engage me in conversation however, her tone was rather antagonizing as I got the impression she was trying to get a rise out of me. Regardless, I don't know what goes on in the melons of some of these employees because if I ever pulled those shenanigans at my job, I wouldn't have one.
