Ok my buddy has a blue tick coonhound that he bought for like $500 from somewhere up in Pennsylvania or something. It is from a champion bloodline or something, at least that is what they were told and they got papers and all that stuff, no reason to doubt otherwise. He is two years old and he is a bit.....umm......stubborn. They have had a few labs in the past and I believe they have had another hound dog before with great success. They are avid hunters so they use the dogs frequently.
Well they live in a neighborhood and dont ever take the dog on walks. If anything they will let it go out in the backyard every now and then but hardly give it any exercise as they haven't been hunting much this past year. Well, as expected, this dog bays all night long. And this dog has one mean bay. They have gotten a few tickets for it and they have also gotten a shock collar to no avail.
Just to clarify, I am friends with the two boys of the household, we are the same ages more or less. Well the parents split up, the dad moved to an apartment, couldn't take the dog or spend time with it anymore, and so they were left with this dog that is really a handful. So I told them to give me some pictures of the dog, the papers, the bloodline, and I would find a home for him since they couldn't handle him. I was going to give away this dog for free. Then today I hear that one of the sons took the dog out to their ranch and shot it! He freakin killed the dog! I haven't gotten to talk to him yet because I am so furious. He was telling a mutual friend that no one would take the dog and he was getting them too much tickets so he had to do it.
How ridiculous is that! It makes me sooooo mad I just want to kill him. How can someone be so heartless to kill their dog they have had for two years because they are too irresponsible to take care of it properly? This makes me so mad. I wish there was something I could do but there really isn't other than to talk to him about it and even still, it is over with. And the guy that did it is a hardheaded idiot. Me and him get along so so as long as we don't talk to much because that is the kind of person he is.
Anyways, I had to vent.....I am so mad.
