To doodle, or not to doodle, that is the question... (meg)

Well, it's sort of too late. We doodled :)

FMIL works with a guy who is being forclosed on. On Monday. They really needed to rehome their 'goldendoodle', so, it seems like we've acquired one! (This is the LAST time this dog will be called a golden-doodle, btw. The name just makes me gag) FH and I had discussed adopting a poodle mix later in our lives, but this one seems to have come along at just the right time, so we met her last night, and we're going to pick her up at 7PM. Pirate was not thrilled with her, but he wasn't unhappy either.

So, welcome to the family, Wendy! Pictures are forthcoming, after we go steal FMIL's clippers and get her cleaned up.

    Congrats on the "doodle"!

Wendy, you have no clue how lucky you've just became!

    • Gold Top Dog

How exciting! I can't wait to see pictures of Wendy!

    • Gold Top Dog

Congrats!  Make sure you get before and after pics.

    • Gold Top Dog

    Yes pics please!!

Glad he found you found him!

I saw on Facebook you had something about doodling and I had no idea what you were talking about!  Guess this answers the question!

Congrats on the new addition.  What's the new name gonna be?

And YES....we'll require pics for sure!

p.s....Pirate....don't worry.  Just show him who the boss is or he'll be walking the plank!  :)

She's a girl, Johnny! I don't dare try and add a male in my house - Pirate is VERY bossy, LOL.

    Without further ado, Wendy!

She rides on the floorboards. Weird.

Checkin' out her new digs. She really likes her crate! I put her dinner in there and she gobbled it down :) (generic store brand -- uuughh. It hurts that it's even in my house.)

In a nutshell, she stinks, and is too thin, but other than that she seems like a well-adjusted gal. Pirate growled and snapped at her (typical Pirate reaction) and she shook it off without a problem. She's BIG - or at least it seems like it.

Awwww, she's cute! Once she's cleaned up and bathed, she's going to be a very pretty girl.

Miss Wendy, you have NO idea how lucky you are, even with the special brotherWink

One of my closest friends has a golden doodle and we dog sit for him sometimes.  We actually were at their house tonight and he'll be staying here later this week.  He's adorable and well-behaved.  I told H that when we get another big dog in the future, if I saw a doodle at a shelter or in a rescue, I'd want it.  I won't however go to a "breeder" for one like my friend did.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh!!!!  She's got the sweetest face!!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

She's adorable!  My friends also have a goldendoodle that they got from a "breeder" against my advice.  Luckily he is a sweetheart and has had no issues and he is greatt with their new little baby and any kids who visit.  He is a whopping 85 pounds.  He is a lot of dog!

Aww, even if she's stinky, her face looks very soft.  Hope Pirate grows to enjoy her.  She's very lucky to have you guys.

Congrats Wendy! You just hit the jackpot.

Was her name Wendy? Or did you change it? You've got a Peter Pan theme going now. Stick out tongue

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh, how cute! Hrm... Pirate and now Wendy - will the next one be Peter (Pan)? Cute!

    • Gold Top Dog

Yeah -- Peter Pan -- and also (man I really AM showing my age here) -- Casper the Friendly Ghost's bestest friend in the whole world was Wendy the Good Witch!!

But I s'pose we gotta stick with the pirate's wench thing huh?? *running away quickly* -- now you'll want the Pug's input I s'pose???
