Once we had decided what was going to happen, one of the techs asked Dr. V, if she could go home, take a nap, & come back to take the night shift so that Boo had a tech that he liked round the clock.  The doctor quickly agreed, stating that it was a great idea.  I know that it's a little thing, but it meant a lot to me.

Amanda, please don't beat yourself up. I hope he's doing well this morning. You reacted so quickly and got him the help he needed! I'll be thinking about him today and hoping for good updates. Oh and a three hours drive in less than 2 hours??? You gotta be careful!

It's such a delicate balance between using flea and tick prevention and everything. Any of us could have been in the exact same position as you.

Wholeheartedely agree with everyone else...please don't beat yourself up over this.  You are an excellent BruMama, we all know it, and you know it...and Brutus loves you unconditionally.

Thanks everyone.  I really appreciate all the good thoughts.

I couldn't get my phone to login so I had to wait until I got home to post.  Brutus is doing well.  I picked him up this afternoon, & he seems to be feeling fine.  He's still got soft serve poops, but they are getting better, & he is otherwise normal again.  Well, as normal as it gets for Boo!

His PCV dropped from 44% yesterday morning, to 32% this morning, but the vet thinks that it is mostly due to the fact that he is "super hydrated" from the IV fluids.  We are going to be monitoring it daily for the next week, & then, if everything is looking ok, we will start reducing the number of blood draws.
