    Friday Chatter

I officially start working from home today! This morning instead of a 45 minute commute, I did a 3 mile walk with Ari. Boy oh boy was she a happy pup! I will have to go into the office on Wednesdays, but this is so great. 4 days out of the week, I won't have to share and office, can work in silence and Ari won't have to be all kenneled up all day.

It's also a long weekend for me whooo hooo! No plans, outside of some R  & R and I'm going to try to grill and entire chicken on the grill.

That's fantastic Sharon....what a relief that must be for you.  I know its such a pain for me to get ready for the day and trek into the office.   I much prefer working from home, when I can.  Enjoy!

I'm off to the doctor this morning for the annual well woman exam, blood work and mammogram today.  Then taking my Mom 1/2 way to Austin for a visit with my sisters.  Looking forward to having the house to myself (ok, ourselves) for a couple of weeks.  **chair dancing**

Enjoy your Friday.  Good vibes for all!

    Hooray for Friday!

    That is all.

I'm off today *happy dance* which is so nice so far!  Then tomorrow we leave for parts unknown.  yay!

In response to Jano's post with Rupert eating the ice cream cone, we used to get sammy a baby cone, and set it down between my feet and he would oh so gently lick it and then finally pick up the cone and eat that.  It was soooo cute!  Now, he isn't really supposed to get much dairy and/or fat so he can only share a few licks.

I'm off to.... well, I don't know what I feel like doing, but I'm off to do it Smile  Happy friday everyone!

I only work until two, then off for 4 days. The day is going to drag by :p

Grrr.  I am in a bad mood this morning.  Sometimes other halves seem overrated.  (just an exaggeration b/c of my mood)  Things can be fine and then he can just say that 1 wrong thing that sends me instantly into defensive, p****d off mode.

Stacey, I think Timmy's trainer should have instantly fallen in love when she saw his adorable face.  Clearly she has issues since she didn't Stick out tongue

Glenda & Paige: JobsJobsJobsYouYouYouNowNowNow  glad to hear there are nibbles.  I've been thinking about you.

I want to meet more iDog peeps.  I think I need to visit Texas and have some of this food Jackie and Julie have talked about.

Ugh, I know I'm forgetting stuff.  I read all these MC threads but usually don't have time to post.  Please know, even if I don't say anything, I am thinking positive thoughts and prayers for all who need them.

I'm off today too!!  Whoo Hoo!  However, it is Potty Training boot camp here.  I am hoping by the end of the week Miss Riley will no longer be wearing diapers (at least during the day).  Yee Haw!!!

Last night was Riley's last swim class.  The pool is closing forever due to budget cuts.  For those on FB I posted some pics.  Normally parents aren't allowed in, except on the last class so I was able to take some shots.  She did so good and got all check marks on her stuff except blowing bubbles...I think its a stubborn thing now.  I need to find her a new program for the summer.

We will be changing her doctor.  I had a knock down drag out battle with her JRA doc.  Needless to say I am not happy with his passive attitude.  My boss pulled some strings and she will now be seeing the docs at University of Michigan medical center.  I am so happy.  Her first appt. isn't until July, but hopefully there is a cancellation and we can get in earlier.

Sharon - I know what you mean about working from home...it is completely liberating.

Continued job vibes to those still in need of them, hopefully that's not for much longer.

I need to go and find a bathing suit... like today. I might be going down the shore on Sunday, probably won't really go in the ocean, but I should be prepared for that possibility. I have one, I know I should at least. I wore it when I went with one of the kids to a birthday party earlier this year, and when I went to Hershey. I have no clue where it is now. All I can find right now though are a pair of board shorts and a bikini bottom (because I got the shorts bottom last year from lands end, and then bought that and wore a rash guard with the top when I was in outdoor pools). If I had to I could wear the bottoms and go with a tshirt, or pick up a men's rash guard in the sporting goods store. The Women's Rash Guards in their won't fit me, and it looks like Lands End isn't carrying them in store, or at least not where I looked.

I have not been around much because work has been a bugger this week and evenings have been non-existent.  Those of you who have heard me moan about my co-worker -- that problem looks like it may be resolved soon.  I don't post work stuff online -- but let's just say she was VERY dumb.

I am SO stoked about having Monday off it's not funny.  I honestly do need a day "off".

Morning all!  Hope everyone has a GREAT Friday.

I'm hopeful that we will have an offer today.  Nothing concrete, just woke up feeling really positive today.  That in itself is not an easy task.....DH goes incredibly quickly into gloomy gus mode.

The gig in NM that suddenly dried up, and I'm sure due to his age, really did a major setback in his positive attitude.  He really wanted that gig, altho I'm not really sure why because it's a format he's not crazy about, and well, it was NM where it's hot and you have to shake out your shoes before you can put them on!  The interest that came earlier this week with the ensueing nibble yesterday he's not as excited about as NM.  I don't want to push it, but this is a location I would prefer.  Certainly not either of our ideal locations, but what is these days???  Radio is a cruel mistress, but she's under his skin, in his blood, and she's all he's ever had, so.........and with so many broadcast jobs lost in the last year, it's not like we can be all that particular.  It's a good solid job with fair pay, not that there has been an offer at this point, but I really need to work to change his attitude without pushing that specific nibble.

I've been praying really hard about our situation and I don't believe we would be sent a bad choice at this point.  But, how do I get him to accept that maybe this IS our answer, without pushing the specific nibble and location?  He's ready to take any offer he gets, but, I want him not to just grab, but to embrace if that makes any sense?

Why can't men speak the same language we do???????  Frustrating!!

So, it seems that todays task is lifting HIM up and encouraging him to be open to the possibilities.  I would gladly accept any support from you guys!

Very much looking forward to the forecast rain for this weekend.  Hopefully it will give us a bit of a cool off.  Although, despite the heat the last couple of days, we've had a good breeze that makes it a bit more tolerable.  Still, an all day rain would be delightful!

Have a great day everyone, and for those of you who won't be on this weekend, a wonderful LONG one!!

I'm back at work today and going through my zillion emails and voice mails. Thankfully it is quiet in here today. Hardly anyone is here, especially considering it is a holiday weekend.

I need to get a bday present for my 11 yr old niece. I asked her what she wanted and she said "Anything that looks interesting". Ha. That is no answer! So, I will need to get creative. Maybe I will get her a baseball cap with a LED light in it for camping. She mentioned camping stuff....

Hopefully the dogs are ok at home today! I need to cancel my lunch plans so I can run home and check on them. I should have crated Lily at the very least. I expect that the cone will be off Abbie's head when I get home. She started pawing at it last night.

In a word, hormones.  They affect the way men's brains develop as well as operate.  I just finished reading a book called "The Male Brain" and it was an interesting perspective, written in lay terms.

Here's hoping the nibble turns into a shark bite!

Paige and Glenda *jobjobjobnownownowjobjobjobnownownow* vibes headed your way!

I am glad it is the weekend. I think I am going to buy a ton of plants for my gardens and plant them this weekend. :) I am excited for that part of gardening.

You've got all my support Glenda. I know how tough it can be to try to keep someone optimistic when they don't want to be.

I think spring might've finally arrived for us. It's only going to be 70ish today but just sun and no rain and then in the 80s for the next 7 days!! I finally feel like it's time to get some color in my backyard, so I'll be digging in the dirt for the holiday weekend. DH has been on vacation and really helping out a lot with stuff around the house and yard, so that's been super nice. We don't have any plans other than to relax, BBQ and putter around the house. My idea of a perfect weekend.
