I'll have a helping of everything, except potato salad (childhood trauma, can't eat it).

Do tell  . . . you have me quite intrigued !!!

Okay, I can't get past the horrid smell of hard boiled eggs and I cannot eat cold potatoes, period.  We never had mayo, only Miracle Whip, and it was not uncommon for my parents to force us to eat things even if they were on the verge of spoiling.  I appreciate that they were older, had lived through the Depression, and didn't want to throw food away, but I have my limits.  Even my dad would think you didn't have to refrigerate things that should have been, and then expected us to scrape the funky stuff off (mold) and eat it. And my parents were the type that made you take some of everything, every single time it was served, and eat it, regardless of if you liked it, and you couldn't leave the table til your plate was clean.  I spent a lot of lonely time at the table gagging down stuff as a kid and potato salad was one of those dishes.

Tina - Once again you make me wish I were close enough to give you a hug. Sorry for the rotten, no pun intended, memories. I have some of those too and was reminded of one this morning. The Today show had a piece about a 12 yr old girl home alone when 3 guys broke into the house. She called 911 and hid under her covers but the tape of the 911 call made me cry for her and reminded me of something similar when I was home alone and my dad was out drinking. :(

Like all the rest of you, I'm worrying about Julie and Abbie. I hope they can figure out what's going on.

I would probably still be sleeping right now but DH let Sassy run and jump up on the bed to wake me up. I much prefer that to an alarm clock :)

    Morning all;

Thinking about Julie and Abbie,  good healing vibes for Apollo and Shammy's Mom.

AC guy came back yesterday to fix the fan motor and the sky open up and rained/hailed/thundered/lightning!!!  He got it fixed but he was drenched.  I gave him a dry towel, asked him if I got a discount for the shower and warm towel, lol!

Hot Shot hid most of the evening.  The possible pop up shower was more like a gully washer with lots of noise.  Even Rocky seemed a little out of sorts which it normally doesnt bother him.

Meg {{Hugs}}  time will heal your heart.

Jackie, I should have thought about the duct tape....I am considered the "Duct Tape Queen" at the campsite when we go camping....please dont turn me into the "Redneck" council or we will both loose out status, lmao!

Aww, thanks Cathy.  I'll pretend for now that you did.

Amanda, sorry about all the stress lately!  Can you take the kayak and Bev and hit the water? I think working out the tension in a focused, useful way sure helps. I did that with redoing the courtyard lawn and landscaping it with a new herb garden to get through the worse of the Gobie grief/moving from family/moving to new town stress.

Paige and Glenda- job job job you you you now now now!

And good thoughts to Abbie and Julie, I am eagerly waiting for an update. Scary how fast she got sick!

My mom is doing better, thanks for the good thoughts :)  Her heart meds were changed around and adjusted and she is feeling much better.  She's tough as nails though which helps!

Just puttering around the house, having a slow start to everything this morning. Just now got coffee.

I was woken up by the door bell at 7am the dog that has come to my house each time it got loose, well the owner came today asking if I seen her dog because he got away yesterday and she thought maybe I saw him. I said no and if I would have I would have returned him. She says well yesterday he didn't want to go out and we made him and he's been missing ever since. Poor dog I sure hope he's alright. It's a the dog with the bad skin condition.

Waiting on the cable guy again, he was suppose to come out saturday from 2-4 never showed so I called and got $20 off my bill since they guarantee their time which I didn't know lol well the guy finally calls and said he'll be out around 7:30 8pm I called back and said no thats just to late. So now waiting on them again lets hope they show but then again another $20 would be good to get taken off since their cable is so crappy.

I would love to try direct tv or fios or the other one but you gotta sign up for two years I wanna know but my cable will look like before I sign up for two years

Well hope everyone is having a good day.

the funniest thing happened today at the office.  We are having work done on the building's foundation (it's an old victorian house i work in) and my co worker and I decided to go to the store, we open the back door and there's this older guy naked, except for a pair of super tight underwear lol.  He was apparently changing out in the open like 4 feet from our door lol

Tell me you snapped a pic????  That's totally a FB post!

I took Bev & Cher to the river to kayak.  In hindsight, that wasn't such a good idea.  Cher was a goober, & I spent most of the time pulling her back up onto the kayak, or trying to keep us upright because she was bouncing & throwing everything off balance.  I think every muscle in my body is on fire right now, & that's not a bad thing, imo.  I am going to try to take the kayak out in the pond a few times to work on teaching the psycho that she's supposed to stay still when we are in the water.

What's for dinner?  I need inspiration.

Well, did you get a picture? :)

I ordered a new bedding set again. First one I ordered they said was on backorder for 4 or 5 weeks and then said it was no longer available. I hadn't been able to find anything I really liked but decided to get serious about it this morning. I found one I think we'll be perfect and the reviews were great. It was normally $300 but on sale for $119 and that's for the comforter, bedskirt and 2 shams for a Calif. King. I sure hope it looks as good as it does in the pictures.

Good vibes for Paige and Glenda's family - JOB JOB JOB YOU YOU YOU NOW NOW NOW.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it!  It's been mighty quiet on the local front - not a peep from anyone.  (However, a very high level person at Timberland told me she'd do anything she could to recommend me for anything there if I came back.  Which was awesome!)  In the meantime, I need money earned here to do anything/go anywhere...  Money money money me me me now now now, job job job us us us now now now.... (it's such an easy mantra, isn't it??  Reminds me I need to call my grandmother, since it's her mantra...)

I just signed G up for another trial.  I kept forgetting and missing deadlines for recent trials.

The landscaper was supposed to come to fix the sprinkler system manifold, but had car trouble, so rescheduled for Friday.  I spent my whole morning indoors and never got to sit outside.  It's the season of tornadoes it seems - lots of warnings.

Good thoughts still heading to Abbie.  Amanda, hope you got some mental relief (even if the physical got ramped up by hauling Cher around.)

I know that DH wants to take Sassy out in the kayak this summer and I'm betting he'll have the same type of experience. I did insist on him buying a life vest for her. I am 100% sure that at some point, they will both end up in the water. Hope I'm there to see it :)

LOL Amanda & Cathy - I sooo want to take B in a kayak at the lake but doG help us we get too near a goose..........

I decided last week to try one of those skin renewal creams - now I should preface by saying I have very sensitive skin and have tried various high end night creams and my skin has reacted intensely and not well.  This one is a 14 day thing and tomorrow will be 7 days.  My skin has been burning a bit in the morning but otherwise not too bad.  Until today.YEEEOUCH my face his burned and so irritated.  I am doomed to have many wrinkles LOL Anyway I need to quit using it for a few days and then finish it when my skin feels and looks better.

Please someone tell Bugsy that the UPS & FedEx trucks are good.  I just had to drag his butt in (not literally I can't do that) because he was barking and running after the UPS guy who was delivering next door.  The mail lady is fine, workmen are fine, all other vehicles are fine but not UPS &FedEx.  They are infiltrators..........apparently.

And Bugsy had a tick on the edge of his eye, in the corner.  He was so good when I held him down to take if off, what an awful spot!  So if the tick is alive but not well attached and not engorged can it transmit anything? Or are we safe?

Sassy is the same way and can recognize the sound of their trucks from blocks away. The drivers used to knock on the door and leave the package but now they just set it down quietly and walk away so she doesn't go off. It's kind of funny but we appreciate it. Still, she sits and waits for that knock for a long time, even after they drive away. Hmmm...maybe not the brightest bulb in the pack?

Here's a pic of the bedding I ordered. If you don't like it, don't say anything. I always have a ton of angst over stuff like this. My friend says it's because we tend to only buy things like this once in a blue moon, so if we don't like it, we have a ton of remorse - lol
