    Tuesday chat

Made it through the night alright.  I didn't realize how exhausted I was from getting up with Agnes until I zonked out last night.  Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts.  Karen, Bugsy's mom, posted a nice tribute on her blog and I thank her for that.

Dawn, I'm glad you are home safely.  You'll still be in my prayers and heart.

It's rainy and cold here today.  I guess we had summer in April, now it's back to winter.  LOL!

Deb, are you back to work yet?

    *hugs* Tina.

Amanda, have you heard how your Grandma is doing?

My useless co-worker just called in sick, again. Apparently this time she's thrown her back out. I told our boss she wouldn't be in and why and his comment was "how did she do that, bending an elbow?" I wanted to laugh really really really hard, but restrained myself. At least he knows.

I have a doctors appointment today. I hate doctors and generally avoid going, but FH talked me into going. I'm not looking forward to it.

We are trying to research and plan our honeymoon. We are going to do a road trip of BC for two weeks in September. We will fly into either Cranbrook or Kelowna and end up in Vancouver. I'm trying to figure out if we have time to do the island or not. Somehow I think not.

My sister's boyfriend has basically been living in our house. It is really annoying. He eats a ton, because he is a teenage boy. I think he eats some of my stuff, which pisses me off. He's also not very nice to the dogs, nothing horrible, and Callie annoys me too. Still, you don't scream at dogs in my house. Anyway, he likes to sleep entirely too late. He'd like to sleep till noon. I don't think it's fair that I have to pay to live here (minimally, but I do have to) and he gets to stay here for free, and eat the food, use the water. Especially eating my food is annoying. I'm a grad student, I can't afford that. My dad at least decided yesterday, after I informed him that this was occurring, that him and my sister cannot sleep in the same room. Yes, they are adults, 18 and 19, but there's no way that's a good idea. My dad is annoyed at him being here and being a leech, and seems to think there is no problem with this idea, but I'd like to run it by a few people first. On weekdays, I go to see a client at 6:05 AM, and I leave at 5:50. So, that means I'm up around 5:30 walking around the house. I come back in around 9:00 AM. Would it be all that bad for me to be as loud as possible during my comings and goings?

Ack -- David tossed my keys in my purse last night on our way out and then said "hmm, those aren't 'in' there very well ...." so I pushed them down in for sure.

Well -- I did a good job *sigh* -- I pushed them right into a pocket of my purse I didn't even know WAS a pocket ... spent 15 panicked minutes trying to FIND my keys -- even after DUMPING the purse (gag) on the bed didn't find.  Til I picked it up and it was still "heavy".

Now I'm uncomfortable sitting down after kicking myself SO well in the butt!!

Let's hope this week is FAR better for everyone.

I cannot believe with four cats in my greenhouse that we have a bird problem out there!  I don't know what kind of birds these are but they are trying to eat the cat food and they are making a real mess of the deck too.  And, they make this weird sound that sounds like they are choking???  They've never been here before but suddenly showed up this week.

I'm going to do something nice for Willow's vets office this week.  My cousins a tech there and has taken excellent care of Willow.  She's getting married at the end of the month and Friday will be her last day  She's going to be in CT so I "could" take Willow to see her if needed but probably that won't be too practical.  But, I wanted to bring a nice little something to the office, maybe Panera or something for everyone.  Or maybe I'll make fudge??  I don't know.

Well, we are off to the park.  The park which no matter what time I go the same people are there with their off leash dogs.  It drives me crazy how we are always all there at the exact same time!

Good thoughts and vibes to all!

Has anyone tried the new pretzel M&Ms?

I never really do these chats, but I think I'll start joining in... I never got a call back for the weight loss coach position I interviewed for. The women seemed more interested if I was bilingual more than anything, and while I can speak/understand a little Spanish, I'm definitely not bilingual. Oh well. Sunday MIL called DH upset because FIL was having a "bad day". He has Alzheimer's, so he has "good" and "bad" days. Apparently, Sunday was a very bad day. He fought her on taking his meds, forgot who she was and tried to get her our of "his" house (they both own the house even though they're divorced), wouldn't eat and threw his lunch on the floor, and then after all that he gave her a Happy Birthday card, lmao, instead of a Happy Mothers Day card- hey, it's the thought that counts! Apollo has a very weird lump on his leg. I always thought it was just a skin tag but I think it's getting bigger. It's soft, like it's filled with water. My friend who used to be a vet tech thinks it's probably a cyst, but he'll be going to the vet on Thursday- wish us luck. I hope everyone is doing well and has a good day!

Stephanie, I am in need of a weight loss coach. Actually, what I need is a performance manager. Someone who checks in with me weekly or so and sees if I met my goals for the week on a few items, and makes me pay up if I don't do it. I have little desire to exercise, but I seriously need to do it. I need to start graphing this too. I am debating which of my friends could be the most mean to me on this.

I have poison ivy ALREADY!!!Angry I might have to just chop my legs off since that is where the poison ivy seems to like to live. I didnt even do anything to get it. I swear I get it now if someone just mentions the word. Crying

Tina - I'm glad you were able to sleep well last night.  I know what it's like to feel so exhausted from carrying for and worrying about your sick dog.

Dawn - it's good to have you back. We missed you.

It's going to warm up to 70ish today but it was brrrrrrr cold this morning and I had to turn the heat on when I got in the office. I saw the news about the tornadoes in Oklahoma yesterday and it looks like there's more bad weather on the way and it might affect several other states. Stay safe everyone.

what nasty weather! I had a dream that the tree in my back yard fell down on my fence. Hopefully that won't come true! It's totally dead with no bark left. I really need to get it chopped down but the estimates I got were like $800!

I just sent in my forms to go on the national guard air lift day thingy here in MI. A friend/co-worker who is currently stationed in Iraq signed me up for it. We get to go from Lansing to their training base in a blackhawk chopper then spend the day on the base. I'm so excited. It'll be way too cool.

Oh man, that will be very cool. When I worked for AF Reserves we put on an huge exercise with the Natl Guard and Navy and I got to ride in a medic chopper. It was seriously one of the best things I've ever done. Other than it being fun tho, I remember I about froze to death, so bring a jacket. We flew with the doors off, so that might've made a difference. We also went out over the ocean...ahhhh, such wonderful memories. :)

Tina I am glad that was OK - I really am so proud to know you.  I get so upset when I see elderly dogs turned it for stupid reasons.  Last night on one GSP rescue there was an 11 yr old and two 10 yr old dogs - how in the world do you have a dog for 11 yrs and then 'get too busy'? Grrr

Dawn glad you are home safe.  Be kind to yourself you will be exhausted for quite some time

I need so help - I think Bugsy may have a stuck poop issue - he was trying to go for ages early this morning and then DH said he had a messy poop on his walk but still kept trying to go.  Bugsy is now very sleepy and didn't even bother to get up when I got in - very unusual.

Anyway is there something I should do?  Feed him, not feed him, etc.  And we could use some solid poop vibes - please let this pass.  I believe the only weird thing he ate was a snake skin which I recall from last year came out whole. Oye dogs!

Amanda I hope you got some good news about Grandma

Stephanie there was an ad here for wellness coaches so i looked into it - it was basically a sales job to sell some product this gym was hawking.  Lots of BS out there

Motto of the day.....Speak softly & carry a big 2x4.

I'm having a crap day, & I have the urge to smack a coworker.  That is all.

ETA:  I think that Idog is possessed.  A minute ago, there was a product review section at the top of my screen.  I posted a thank you thread, but now it's gone. :(

Well, Karen, you know that old dogs walk a lot slower and often need to pee more frequently...not very convenient for the human to adjust his schedule to.  Angry

Sometimes I wonder if it is because there is something like grass (or snakeskin) that was eaten and not quite pushed out, so the dog feels that in the rectum and still tries to poop, but there is nothing for the item to catch on so it exits.  Have you tried pumpkin?  Or what is that trick with the cotton balls soaked in milk?
