As many of you know, my 17 year old, Dancer, has had some problems lately. She has CKF, plus she's recovering from a bout of "old dog vestibular disease". We are having to give her sub-q fluids twice a day right now. So, does my BF complain about all the care? On the contrary, he carries her in and out all day while I'm at work. He is the one who inserts the needle (he's diabetic and has the experience LOL), and he spoon feeds or hand feeds her, just like I do. I do two loads of wash a day for her, because she is incontinent, and couldn't wear britches - kept falling with them on. So, today, he did the second load of wash, and because I have an important meeting tomorrow, he took care of the other four dogs, too, plus fed my horse, so that I could pamper myself in the shower tonight...
The beauty of this is that he is not without his own problems - he has a disability that makes him very fatigued sometimes, and yet, for his old girl (and this old girl) he's doing everything he is able to do to make life easier. He may not be rich, but he sure is a love. I just wanted to put that out into the universe.
