Mid-Week Chatter

Ouchie, Sharon & Amanda!  At least you guys have good reasons for your injuries.  Over the weekend, I was hanging up clothes in the closet and turned and banged my nose on the closet door.  It hurt like crazy, and I have no good excuse other than that I am a complete klutz.

A guy called me this morning; he is marking the utility lines per the request of the landscapers.  Apparently the landscapers told him to call me to ensure my "dogs were secured."  I told him it's not an issue, the dogs stay in the house during the day and are only outside if we are home and outside with them.  I did tell him to watch his step, because I haven't done poo patrol in a couple days.  He said, "no worries, if someone were to come into my back yard right now, they'd find the same thing", lol.

Oh, this is a cute little story.  Last weekend my best friend and her hubs went to Greensboro, NC for their anniversary, to see the minor league baseball team play up there.  Her hubs is a huge baseball fan.  Anyhoo, she said their mascot is a beautiful black lab.  She's their bat boy!!  She goes out and picks up the bats after the batters hit and brings them back to the dugout!  She also carries a bucket of balls over to the home plate umpire so he can get fresh balls.  The ump keeps treats on him to give her when she brings him the bucket.  How freaking cute is that???

ETA: Found a video if the dog in action.  Her name is Miss Babe Ruth. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GaRFp0trAs  Sooo cute!

If you pick out a locking thermostat cover from a picture I send you and ask me to special order 15 of them, please don't tell me they are too industrial looking and can you get something else after we've installed them.  Sheesh.  It's a commercial building, people; you don't need a color coordinated thermostat cover.

LOL!  A good a/p person will tell them they are stuck with what they got because their company isn't paying the re-stocking fee, or eating the entire cost since they were, after all, special ordered.  Not like your company can return them to the supplier slightly used and get credit.

Deb, did you OD on guac last night?  Stick out tongue

She must have started her Cinco de Mayo celebration early.

Lies, we had just finished up a run, so I was in a sports bra.  Let me just say that there in no protection in those things.  I have the teeth impressions to prove it!

Jackie, I still can't get the Corky videos to work.  I'll work on them again today.

We are working on a new jigsaw puzzle.  The excitement at our house is just over the top. lol   Amanda would die of boredom.

If you're looking for more excitement, I have ideas....

I had a screwed up dream last night.  Can someone tell me what it means to dream that you're sitting outside, & suddenly you have ants start crawling out of your ears?  DH had to wake me up last night because I was rolling all over the bed, & scratching at my ears.  The thought of ants in my ears still makes me itch.

Thanks, Amanda, I think. lol Wink   I was having a pleasant daydream after reading about you and Lies and the boob bites.  It didn't involve dogs or thermostat covers. :)

Here ya go...your mileage may vary:

    Ants

Because of the nature of ants and the widespread occurrence of fire ants, it is only natural that this little creature find its way into our subconscious as the symbol of pettiness and annoyance. But on a positive note, they can symbolize diligence foresight and teamwork. The little ant is also indicative of organization, and business discipline. In dreams where the ant is related to work issues the ant symbolizes the work ethic or lack of. To be bitten by an ant in a dream can indicate a small annoyance in your life, or if bitten by many, lots of small annoyances in life.

Jackie, if you are into boob bites, you should probably keep that to yourself.  This is a family forum you know. Stick out tongue

Gina, that man makes me drool something fierce.

Ari's gotten me on the boob too, while playing with a toy. My fault, but dang it all if that doesn't hurt something awful!

re: ants in ears, Gina's quote is pretty much it.  Most likely, you're annoyed by something you're hearing, or you're ignoring listening to something/someone (maybe many?) you find annoying.  Possibly work, if you have more than one person who seems to mindlessly work, but still annoy you.  Ears are related to listening to others, either being receptive to their input, or relying too much on yourself and ignoring them (cleaning wax out of your ears in a dream is symbolic of "I'm not listeniiiing!"

I read Dawn's update and I cried.  I can't imagine her dad, sister, and brother listening to the last moments of her mom's life.  Ugh.  Although maybe there's a comfort that she wasn't exclusively with strangers?  I don't know, but I'm glad they've got eachother for comfort right now.  So awful.

Off to go see what's going on with Tally-man.

Thanks for the info on the bridal shower stuff. It's actually another friend of the friend who is getting married, but really the two of them were never, and aren't as close as I am to either of them (obviously, since I am in the wedding). Actually the person in question, wants to go but isn't invited to the wedding. She was the one who asked me about it. I said I had no idea about if that was cool or not. That won't upset her though, at least I don't think so.

I decided I'm texting or calling my mentor on Friday, because she is just entwined in my superstitions now. Is my panic obvious at all?

I should have started my laundry earlier. I can't go to work in what I'm wearing, and nothing I really like is clean. Gonna go to the Toastmasters meeting again tonight, and I will join this time. I think I will pack some gym clothes and go there before, since I will get in the area there around 6, and the meeting is at 7. I figure, even if I only get on something for 15 minutes, it's better than not going at all.

My heart aches for Dawn too. I can't imagine the emotions they all must be feeling right now. I'm sure knowing how much we all care helps her a little.

I got to keep the SUV loaner overnight. Man, it is really sweet to drive but I am determined not to own any more fancy and/or expensive cars again. I just don't like having to worry so much nor spend so much money to buy and maintain them.

I have a little lizard in my office. Not sure when he came in but he's hiding under the little frig we have. I've opened the back door in the hopes that he'll smell the fresh air and head back out. I really don't want him to die in here :(

DH found a large turtle on the side of the road while walking Sassy yesterday. He said it was heading for the road, so he picked it up and put him in the nearby wooded area. He worried about it all last night though "do you think I should've found a place where there was water?"...'what would you have done?"..."what if he turned around and headed back to the road?"..."do you think someone dumped him?" Poor guy probably dreamt about it last night Big Smile

On the turtle thing, I was told just to take them out of the road, and point them in the direction of water. I brake for turtles, though it happens rarely. I did get one once that someone else took off the road. Felt bad doing it, but I eventually ended up putting it near one of the parks. The particular type is not native, but there is a pretty big feral population. So, I put it so it would be with the rest of the feral population. Given that it wouldn't eat any sort of turtle food for the brief time I did keep it, I had to wonder if maybe it had come from there, since that was near where the person found it. They at first tried to just toss it in with another turtle of the same type. Totally a bad idea since the first one was already in a way too small tank.

I need to get up and find something to wear. I guess I'll have to pick the least dirty of the pants to wear.

I could get in so much trouble with this!  Instead, I am practicing self control.  No comments about boob biting or nipple twisting from me....

Apparently, Cher is "normal."  Except for the fact that he glucose level drops very low from time to time.  All of her bloods are normal.  An abdominal ultrasound is normal, & the endrocrinologist has no clue what is going on with her.  He is consulting with a colleague to see if he has any other ideas, but for now, we are going to monitor her glucose levels, & increase her to four meals a day.  I am a bit frustrated, but what else do you do?

omg the bat dog was so cute.

Posting lots of stuff on ebay, I need to buy some stuff - supplies, I have some things I want to make, and chickens need some electronet & donks need a new training pen. So hopefully I can get a little cash for my 'crap'!! also nice to get rid of stuff, I have too much stuff.

on day 37 of the p90x. Still going strong. Bf is wavering a bit, he kinda wimped out this morning, he'll probably end up doing it after work, even though he hates working out in the evenings.

I found out the other day I can get twice as much doggie treats @ Sam's for the same price @ the local store. YAY!

I found out that the mare on one of the ustream cams died very shortly after foaling from post-partum colic. Her filly is healthy so far but they've had to bring in a surrogate mare and the mare isn't thrilled with the concept. It's sad to see this little filly all alone in a big stall. I wonder what her odds are of surviving. I didn't realize how deadly colic can be in a horse. Very scary.
