I think I'm mostly out of the hangover fog.  I'm too old to drink 6 rum & coke with only a soft pretzel and small crab quesadilla in my stomach.  Bleeeh.  I have no idea what I said to that 25yr old, either.  I was waaay too friendly, I'm sure.

Julie, I'm sorry you got stuck and lost in the cold.  Yuck.  I hate being wet and cold...  hope you got to take a long hot bath when you got home.

    • Gold Top Dog

Julie -- yep, hope you got to take a warm bath -- but i'm on to you -- You PLANNED that right?  Just to give them all some extra training "real life"??  (hey it's a good line if you can get away with it!)

Jackie -- wish I could help.  Whatever food you leave out -- tuck a few Hylands Calms in it -- it *helps* -- won't hurt the puppies.

i've seen stuff like that before -- in fact some really heartbreaking stuff.

It's 3:15 and only now am I getting to the point where I can get online.  David's working today and I've been up to my armpits in dogfood and laundry.  Finally talked David into going to see "How To Train Your Dragon" (no, I never did grow up)

Meg, I am SO glad you've finally finished!!  Rah!!

Karen - if you have any White Flower Oil or peppermint or any of those it WILL help.  If's a good topical anti-inflammatory and will help heal.  Sorry it's been so painful.

Glenda -- make sure you guys make a trip to the beach before you guys up and leave for "someplace" - the sand up there is just awesome -- you'd swear it was pure salt - so white and absolutely crystaline.

I ended up spending yesterday with my friend as girls night out at her place hanging with her girls and helped her packed. It was nice to get a break from my nightmare of life and be able to laugh not worrying about every little thing. Now getting back to reality I need to clean house and figure out what to make for dinner.

On sad note Mocha gave us another sign that his days with us are fleeting my mom said he jump off the wicker chair a couple days ago and had to stay where he landed from what she saw it looks like he was paralyze he couldn't move his back legs. After laying there for a few minutes he was able to get up. He still has his good days the bad days are still far between, but it's just a bitter reminder that soon will change.

Hope everyone's weekend was good, I'm cleaning oh what fun lol

Ugh neighbors I'm in my bedroom cleaning shade was opened just a little and I seen a shadow which was my neighbor walking passed real slow and I notice a gun in his hand he's outside killing squirrelsAngry  I don't trust the guy at all.  He hates the stray cats that are around but notice lately I haven't seen any except the ones that stay at my house.  I just don't get it what is a squirrel up in a tree doing to you?? I worry about my dogs when this guy is home & the cats but they don't go near his house they must know he's a nut job.

Back to Cleaning who wants to help???

Haha, there was no faking it. I had to own up to my bad navigation skills or I'd still be out there! Thankfully, I had an extra set of clothes with me so I changed once I was rescued ;p and I got something better than a hot bath when I got home! A hot tub....ahhhhh! That was bliss!

Is today just an already around crappy day?

I can't say specifically the area we've been working on, but we've been working on something with a kid I worked with for over two years. He's 12, and problem started at age 3, so not really a long time to be working on it compared to how long it's been happened. We have been moving along successfully, and made tons of progress. We did have a few setbacks along the way, some of them caused by his parents (allowing him to have the reward without doing what he was supposed to do to earn it). Some just because when you're shaping behaviors, the learner will test out and see what might get reinforced.  We've come very far, we're almost at the end of the tunnel, but I will admit, this behavior is totally gross. I'd be fed up if I had been dealing with it for so long. His dad doesn't realize though that we are about two steps ahead of where he believes we are. The kid hasn't done the approximation he thinks is occurring for about two months. He's doing the current approximation independently, rather than with prompting. We have come so far with this, and honestly, if his dad keeps sabotaging the treatment by allowing him to access the reinforcer for free, I'm done. I've put more thought, time and effort into this behavior than any other behavior for any other kid. Sending the kid away to deal with it is just like sending a dog away to deal with the behavior. He learns to do it in the special place with the special people, but since the people at home won't clean up their acts, and will let him go right back to the old ways, things won't change. There isn't a miracle cure for your kid, and your time and money spent searching for that would be better spent teaching your son to do for himself. The second part is, this kid is capable of so much more than his parents make him do for himself. Why did we bother teaching him to dress himself when they'll just do it for him anyway? Life isn't always going to be easy, and I know he gets mad at me when I make him do things for himself. I know he is capable, he just is used to you doing for him. If your goals for him are what you claim them to be, you are doing him no favors at all.

    Ok, end of rant

Oh Julie YUCK!  I hope you have a restful evening!

Jackie I don't have any helpful info - just hope that she trusts you soon and you can help them out.  Um yea I'd like to meet the dumpers Angry

Callie I have the woodlock oil you sent for Bugsy - whereas DH & I love the warming sensation muttley goes beserk.

Cathy my sister said to keep using it, gently and try to keep stretching. She doesn't think it is the scar tissue because that doesn't tend to hurt. This is very sharp pain, eye watering LOL. Ice and gentle exercise then even more gentle stretching AND ibuprofen.  It is less painful tonight but I fear this is going to take a while to feel 100%, this is not what I needed right now. Not that I ever want it but I've been battling the blues so this will take away my real exercise. just UGH!

On a positive I definitely flirted with disaster with Bugsy.  I went out to pick up the poops and found none.  Hmmm. Still nothing after he ate.  Uh oh not like him to not go he is a 2-3x a day sort of guy. About 10 minutes ago I did another swoop - ACK!! A very unusual poop of cloth, grass, and bone shard.  Then a normal poop. Whew!

The bone shard will be from last week when I gave him a thin emu bone (from the inside of the drumstick) to eat.  It was breaking into sharpish pieces but he generally digests everything.  Clearly not this.

So raise your glass to not having had a blockage or a perforated intestine - I am very relieved to see that poop. Sad I know

    That is all for now

Well Bf complained so much about me not coming home last night and I come home today at 2:00 he was asleep it's now 8:00 still asleep wow I was so missed not. I'm seriously thinking about giving him a month or two to get a job and straighten up or kick him out. I can live without him I'll finally have cash and no longer the stress.

Found a bump on Blue's leg fingers crossed it's just a bump from Cadey and him fighting hopefully it will go away  I haven't notice it and I rub his legs all the time plus there was maybe a small scab on stuck to his fur.

sorry Glenda I've been lucky with him poop isn't an issue but the fact he hadn't gone since last night was definitely on my mind LOL And then that sharp pieces of bone with cloth wrapped in grass poop was definitely a great sight Embarrassed

Oh I just spent 45 minutes trying to convince him that having treed the cat his job was done.............

    • Gold Top Dog

Jackie, ffingers crossed that you can earn the dog's trust, & help her out. Some people should be shot...

Karen, I hope that the leg heals quickly.

Meg, congrats on a completely semester!

    Poor, poor Harry!

Julie, I'm glad that they found you.

I have 3 different law firms working on our custody issue. All 3 say that we will lose, but that, unless the judge does something drastic, & unpredictable, we will still keep the kids, which is my only concern.

I had a nice weekend. DH had planned a surprise b-day party for me, so yesterday, we had friends, & family over for a crawfish boil. Everyone behaved nicely, both human, & canine. My younger brother & his fiance had too much to drink, so they stayed the night, & ended up hanging out with us again today. I'm not sure who loves them more, me, DH, the boys, or the dogs.

We had a scare with Cher this morning. Last night, she was really tired, & skipped dinner in favor of sleeping. This morning, when we got up, she was really weak, shivering & unsteady on her feet. She wasn't totally coherent, & it was enough to warrant a trip to the e-vet. They checked her, drew bloods, & gave her IV fluids, & she perked up quickly. Her glucose level was really low, but otherwise she was pretty normal. The e-vet said that it was just hypoglycemia. Tomorrow, she's going to our normal vet to see if he can find any reason that her sugar levels dropped so low. I can't see why or how that can happen, without explanation.

I am still cramping really, really badly. I relied on a handful of soma to make it through the weekend.

    • Gold Top Dog

Amanda, I hope the cramping lets up quickly.  You might want to talk to your doc about still having the D&C to be sure your body has actually expelled everything.  I'm glad you had a nice weekend.

Karen, I was laughingly recalling all the poop discussions we've had on this forum!  There have been sooooo many very serious discussions about poop quality, and yeah, dog lovers do seem a bit obsessed with color, quality, quantity, firmness, etc.  Back in the day, I never noticed any of those things, other than to mumble about cleaning it up.

If I drank 6 rum and cokes, I'd be in a coma somewhere. Like in 'The Hangover', but worse.

    Light weight.....

I'd be dancing on a bar.  Possibly topless, depending on how strong the drinks were mixed.

I know, but with only 95 lbs for it to dilute into, it's harder to keep up with the big girls...
