    Welsh sheep dogs.

I have a Excellent working border collie bitch and I would like to put her
to a Brown, long haired, welsh sheep dog
Problem is I cannot find anyone with a suitable dog.
she is on heat now - this is urgent as she is not a prolific breeder and this is only the second proper heat he has had in four years.
She is such a good working strain that I do not want to let this opportunity go by.
If anyone knows of a stud dog, preferrably in South Wales.
Please can you get in touch or post a reply. ASAP

    thanks

Do you want to breed to get a better working dog?

Why would you not breed her with another, good herding border collie male?

I was wondering the same thing.  If you're going to breed, why not breed to the same breed instead of creating a mix?

Is your BC Bitch proven on the USBCHA open trial field (or on the farm, preferably both)? What makes her an excellent working dog? What is her breeding? What would be your reasons for crossing to a welsh sheepdog?

For those reading, it is the stand of the working Border Collie community (and myself) that BC's should be bred for stock working ability first, foremost, and only. This INCLUDES the ability to work stock, temperament, health, and all of the many things that go into a good stockdog. It does NOT specifically include a certain look, or physical set of standards.
