    Dogs eating dandylions?

Does anyone have a dog that likes to eat dandylions? The yellow ones, I mean, not the white [;)]

Cassidy, of course, is too grown up to eat dandylions ( she's 3 [;)]).

But my puppy Mirelle likes them. And she'll eat them too, not just pick them up to chew on them. Mirelle likes them as treats; and I can get her to do tricks for them ( such as Speak or shake) [:)].  And she usually doesn't bother them if they're just on the ground, but once I pick them on pop the top off, she'll pounce on them and gobble them up.[:D]

I hope that it's alright for her to eat, though......[&:]

My best friend's dog used to eat everyone in the yard! Her vet said there was no harm in it.

My Roxy picks them.  She picks all yellow flowers.  I could kill her when she goes after my yellow roses- except it is kinda cute!

We sometimes eat dandylions in our salad. Your dog has good taste! Stores sell dandylion greens and flowers to use in salads for quite a bit of $$!

Dandelion is great for you. It's good for the liver, and it's a mild diuretic, if anything is swollen. Emma and I drink dandelion tea on a regular basis;)

That's good to hear because Rupert plucks the heads right off and munches them down. (as long as it's the flower that's good for you and not just the leaves.)

Just be sure the yard hasn't been sprayed with chemicals. Other than that, it's fine!

We used to feed our cows dandelions to help make their butter more yellow. [:D]

Why do I find the idea of cows eating dandelions to make yellow butter so cute?!?

The day I took Gracie home at 11 wks old, we stopped at a park and played forever while I took pictures of my new baby.  She would ATTACK the white dandelions and I had the same thought - could that be bad for her?  Could she get sick?  Thanks for asking the question for the rest of us.

I've ALWAYS dragged Bruno away form the dandlions! Noe I know that they're healthy for him[:D]! Although, what about the white ones? [8|] Bruno attacks both kinds.

Mocha Jean used to eat hostas.

My dad always used to say that a dog eats grass when they want to throw up, but she eats
    grass just to eat it.

I asked my vet about the hostas and he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. The first year we had
her she practically destroyed all my hostas in the fornt yard, this year she ignores them.
