I"M SO MAD

Ok I always go on petfinder, to see if there is anything I can help with. Well they have a Foxhound mix that has run out of time, if he doesn't find a foster home they will put him down. So I called, they turned me down because I am 1 hour away, and becasue I ahve ducks,a nd the lady said he will kill my ducks, that's why he was turned in. For one, I am willing to help this poor guy out and becasue I am an hour away they say no, for two He will only kill my ducks if I allow him to kill my ducks. I mean, it's not like I'm going to bring the dog in my duck pen for crying out loud. So this poor guy will be stuck in the shelter until he is picked to die, because they don't realize I could handle this dog with ducks.

That's horrible that they would turn you down for those reasons. Obviously they don't realize that it wasn't the dogs fault he's there it was the previous owners negligence. I hope the poor guy finds a home real soon.[sm=cry.gif]

That's so sad that they won't let you help him, just because you're an hour away, and you have ducks. First, if you are willing to drive an hour to get him, why should they stop you? Second, if you know there is a potential he will kill your ducks and you are willing to live with that risk (although I can guess that you would do everything in your power to protect your ducks) then that's your problem to deal with. What a silly thing to kill a dog over.

I think that's ridiculous but it's not the first time I've heard of someone getting a really lame reason why they can't adopt.

I can't understand how they can be so fussy about something like location when it's the dogs last chance.
