It's been an interesting day. Cher & I were on the tracking field when the storms blew through here. Poor princess was already having issues with the track, & as soon as the rain started coming down, she was done. She just sat there & stared at me as if to say "Ummm it's raining. You know I'll melt if I stay out here too long." We left because it was quite clear that she was done for the day.
On the way home, we stopped at Petsmart. Everything was going great, I was heeling her on aisles that weren't horribly crowded, & she was even willing to say hi to a few people instead of being her usual snobby self. Then this middle aged man (think late 40s to early 50s) decides to stare her down, bark & growl at her. She was obviously very annoyed & frustrated by the jerk, but she handled herself very nicely. I can say that her bark is, finally, completely on cue, & her self control was spectacular, at least at that moment....
Three aisles later, I am looking at a lifejacket for Schatzi, Cher is sitting next to me, & the "barker" walks up next to us to look at a collar. Cher watched him carefully, measured everything out, & then nosepunched him square in the crotch. As he doubled over, she got in his face & stared him down. I could just hear here telling him "bark at me again, jerk". As we walked away, she pranced around, so proud & arrogantly. She is soooo MY girl!
Bevo's suture line is swollen to high heaven. I'm hot packing it to try to get some of the swelling down. At least he doesn't act like it hurts. Of course, I could cut one of his legs off with a dull pair of scissors, & he wouldn't flinch, so maybe it does hurt & he's just not letting on.
