That's crazy stuff.  To this day I still can't think of a legitimate reason why we would want to clone anything (especially a human).  Honestly there are some people I could do without the original version let alone a double LOL [sm=rotfl.gif]

I would clone Stevie in a heartbeat.

I think those of us who have lost heart dogs would clone our loved one. I could see living with a Stevie for the rest of my life. I think it's the wave of the future.

And as far as cloning a human being? Well, couldn't you see some people wanting to clone Einstein, raise him with all the advantages of modern schooling and teach him all the latest theory?

Of course that clone isn't the original, nor does it have the personality of the original if indeed personality is something that is learned rather than innate.

Cloning could answer a LOT of questions as to which aspects of our being are genetic and which aspects are learned. The whole nature vs. nurture conundrum.

I think it's fascinating. And I think that some people will go into business in the future cloning pets for people and making tons of money.

I'd clone Lucy in a sec if I could.  She was my heart girl & I miss her terribly.

I wouldn't  Rusty was my heartdog, but a clone of him wouldn't be another Rusty.  Life experiences have a LOT to do with a dogs personality and just growing up in the same household wouldn't make a "little Rusty" the same as he was.  And even if it were a 100% lock that he'd be absolutely indentical....well, that to me would kind of dishonor the special bond I shared with Rusty.

Has anyone here seen the movie "The Island"? Interesting movie that deals with cloning and the moral issues of cloning.

I love Sally with all of my being, but I don't think I would clone her. I agree with Glenda about the relationship thing. Plus, I think that the dogs that come into our lives are ment to be. Wouldn't cloning interupt this?

Plus, we already have too many dogs in shelters. Do we want to add cloning to the mix?
