Woman's unusual goal

    Woman's unusual goal

I heard about this on the news this morning.  I'm all for womanly curves and personal choice, but I suppose that I question this goal mostly because it will likely shorten her life and she does have two kids that will be w/out a mom when that happens.  And I wonder what kind of example this is for the kids, esp. the daughter.

W.T.F. That's all I can even think to say.

Food addiction is very very real, as are this women's mental health issues. Ultimately, if she sees no problem with her actions, behaviors - there is really nothing anyone can say to her to make her see differently. I feel bad for her children. At her weight, she is not healthy by any means and will likely not have a long lifespan.

The men in her life are enablers and while I don't doubt there is a fetish for big women, I think her partner's actions go beyond what I personally feel is normal, healthy and wonder if he also has his own issues.

    Two words:

    Nut job.

If she isn't mentally ill (which I think she is) she is extremely selfish. How much of her kids lives has she missed out on already trying to accomplish this "goal"? And then putting her kids through this (trying to be the fattest women) plus all the health issues she's going to face plus an early death. Disgustingly selfish.

I think we need only watch Gilbert Grape again to see what she is putting her kids thru. I didn't read the article but saw the headline on my homepage. I think she may in some twisted way...think that the money she will make with TV spots, the eventual diet afterwards and likely appearance on Biggest Loser etc may in some way help her kids future. But really...I think she needs to watch the movie referenced because that was the first thing I thought of when I saw this.

Sad the things folks will do these days to get their 15 minutes in the spotlight.  I could say more, but I'm biting my tongue!

They just said on The View that she has a website where you can pay to watch her eat.

    Again, nut job.

yeah, I didn't see that info in the article, but the radio report I heard said she is trying to earn money to buy the food by selling time for people to watch her eat it.

    what's the world coming to?

The problem with this woman isn't her weight, it's her freaking looney-tune brain!  She's certifiably insane.

Or when she becomes completely immobile they will have to spend their lives feeding her, dressing her, cleaning her bedsores, wiping out their savings on her medical bills.....

Personally I find it revolting, both the idea and her attitude.

Does she even realize she won't be able to walk at all? Wipe her own butt? (can she even do that now?). That the rolls will get all yeasty and smelly and sore?

    1. she is mental and 2. she's addicted to wheat and dairy.  The proteins in these foods act like opiates in the body, so yes, addicting (while not nearly so as drugs, but still, addicting).

I am sad for her kids.  I am a goo 60lbs overweight myself and it can be hard keeping up with my 6 and 3 yr olds sometimes.

I have a cousin who is near 600lbs, cannot wipe his rear, has pressure sores, does not smell very good, has a terrible time breathing, has insulin resistance/acanthosis nigricans and can hardly walk from his car to his apartment building. I cannot imagine someone WANTING to add another 400lbs on top of that.  He is food addicted and cannot bring himself to change, although he is very miserable, it's sad.

She said her goal is to reach 1000 pounds in two years.  She may not live that long if she contines down this path.

    Sad, very sad.

You know, the world record holder before this was that 880lb woman in Austin, TX, who tried to lose the weight and died from a heart attack a little while after gastric bypass surgery.  She can do what she wants to herself, but I hope to god she isn't covered by your health insurance carrier, because your premiums are gonna go thru the roof.  In fact, I think she should be dropped.  Child protective services must be watching this, too.
