Mindless on Saturday

    Mindless on Saturday

My husband is off in Oklahoma someplace helping his dad move...again. He is currently, lost...but not answering his cell phone, but perhaps has no service out there in BFE. Nice.

We had a nice trip down to the school playground to eat lunch...until Elias fell and gashed his knee open in 3 places. He cried. A lot. So I know it was bad. But he cried MORE when I started to take him home! So we went...and I rinsed it in the fountain and it stopped bleeding while he ate lunch then they played.

Home now, attended to Eli's knee with the hydroperox and neosporin and now? tired and sorta worried about my lost other half. Trying not to hear banjo music when I think of it.

I know whatcha mean, Gina -- once you join the "cell phone revolution" then you feel completely cut off when you CAN"T get them... ugh.

(no banjos -- they'd have to pay royalties to the movie ... ya know??)

He's been found thankfully. I should have known he couldn't get REALLY lost there...he is from there after all LOL.

Elias just came and proudly showed me his knee. The angry redness is gone the deep appearing gashes are now just your run of the mill scabby knee. It's funny how kids pick up your habits...he comes over...shoves his knee in my face and says "look! *ahhhhhhwwwwwwww*" the churchy "shaft of sunlight shining down on the holy grail" sound I make when I am being silly...lol! He's an excellent mimic~

The*sun*is*out!!  Seems the rain is over, at least for awhile and it's supposed to hit the low 70s by midweek. I went to breakfast with some friends and now I'd like to just curl up and take a nap, but I think I'll get Costco out of the way before I lose my coupons.

Cathy, what are Chex Muddy Buddies?  Or am I better off not knowing that? Big Smile

LOL, DH went so he could use the coupons too. We now have enough Move Free and Charmin to last thru 2010 ;). Muddy Buddies have peanut butter and powdered sugar coating. I made them for Christmas gifts and they were yummy. No need for me to make them again though.

Yes, beautiful sunny day and it looks like it'll be a gorgeous week. I've finished all my housecleaning and laundry but now I'm pooped out and want to just veg out. It's my only day to have the house and remote to myself, so I plan to take advantage of it. Watching HGTV right now :)

Going off to have some lunch soon, I think.  Also need to grocery shop, as we have no food of substance.

I'm off for a stroll on the beach.  I deserve it.  Winds at 20-30 mph so may get sand blasted.....

I have the best dog in the world, and none of you can argue with me.  She just endured 4 hours of the Denver St Patrick's Day Parade - and I bought our way into the beer garden when all kinds of crazy people decided they should pat this gorgeous girl in her Celtic green collar.  She may be a German dog, but Denver's St Patrick's Day parade is for EVERYONE!!   It was the longest parade I've ever been to, and we even left before it was all over because she was burnt and I thought she deserved a break. I took some pics, but I doubt they're any good.

I LOVE my dog.  She is soooooo good. With drunk hollering Irishmen, and non-Irishmen alike... kids crawling all over her... men offering beer left and right... blaring car horns, screeching parade-goers, weird sirens, men and women patting her while simultaneously spilling beer near her, crying children, whooping drunk men who enjoyed the Hooters girls a little too much.  I LOVE HER.  I could not ask for anything more from her.  My dog RAWKS.  Totally, totally rocks...and I'm glad we skipped the UKC competition so she could come w/me to the parade.  Ooooh... I love her.

So, there.  I am so proud and happy with my dog.

PS, the weather is spectacularly good today - great parade day.

I have been looking through all my wedding magazines today and tearing out the pages with ideas I like on them.  I found the cutest little mason jars, the lids have a daisy print cut out of them, perfect for a straw to fit into - which would be PERFECT for lemonade or sangria for my wedding  - 'cept I need a favour from one of you idoggers who live in the US?????  Pretty please.  The site to order them from only ships to the us.  If I could get some help shipping them to Canada, that would be most wonderful! Big Smile

I have ribs in the slow cooker for dinner and they smell delicious!  I think we might have an earlier than normal dinner tonight.  They are almost done Yes

Surprise! I have a computer at home now!

Gracie, you are an awesome dog (in case your mom didn't tell you)!

It's windy, rainy, and a bit chilly here today.  I'm cooking dog food, doing laundry, cleaning house.  Going to start of income taxes shortly.

I took a nap this afternoon - it was awesome!  I've not been sleeping well, mostly because I have to get up with Agnes a lot.  Or she coughs and wakes me up.

Don't forget to set your clocks ahead 1 hour tonight if your area does the Daylight Savings Time thing!

I just got back from a bridal shower.  I am hoping for a break in the pouring rain and wind so we can go over to the park.

Took Tootsie to have her nails clipped and the guy asks me do you know why the backs are longer than the fronts? Its usually the opposite. ME- Um yeah, she bites her nails. I don't believe its anxiety at all, what do you think? Shes not obssessive about it at all.

OMG!! Congratulations and welcome to weekend chatter. It's pretty slow some weekends but maybe you can help liven things up.

Paige - I thought you gave Gracie to the circus? We'll definitely need pictures, even if they aren't great. I'm glad you had a good time and Gracie was awesome thru it all.

I took a short nap too and dreamt I was at the ice skating venue of the olympics. Very strange and funny. The skater tried to do a flip and landed on her bottom.

I hope I remember the clocks. DH is working, so I guess he'll get an hour of overtime tonight.

I'm tired, tired, tired.  But, it's the good kind of tired from working in the yard and cleaning the house. :)  I even made a dent cleaning the garage.

I plan on taking a relaxing bath, sipping an adult beverage and watching some mindless TV.  I  haven't felt this good in what feels like ages.  Tomorrow is going to be bittersweet to have Charles home for the day.  I really think that Wednesday we may learn that he can come home soon to finish his recovery. Big Smile

Have a wonderful evening everyone.  You peeps in the Northeast, keep your toes dry. That's some serious rain and I hope you all stay safe.

    Yay for Charles coming home!

Otis isn't feeling well, sneezing and coughing a bit, has diarrhea.  Poor little weiner.
