Chattin' on a Friday (TGIF)

Kya pulled a neck muscle about 2 months ago, got some muscle relaxants and a vet check, and was better.  She seems to have done it again, but isn't responding to the muscle relaxants.  I'm waiting for a call back from the vet's office.  :(

This week has been very long and very tiring.  I'm so glad it's Friday.

I'm in CT today. Ummm.. I have never noticed the sign upon entering before that says it is full of surprises. What does that mean exactly? Full of surprise delays on 95? If that is what it refers to, I wholeheartedly agree.

Boston though.... I have never been more confused than when driving in Boston. It takes me a half hour to go all of a mile because of the dumb layout of the streets, and the general way they attempt to make it extra confusing for those of us who only drive there once every few months.

because of the dumb layout of the streets,

They're based off the old fish cart routes, believe it or not!   Although for some reason there's a belief that it was cow paths!  Dumb.  http://geography.howstuffworks.com/united-states/geography-of-boston.htm/printable

Almost done with my day.  GORGEOUS weather.  If only there was something green to take pics of Gracie in front of.  Bummer.  She has a new coat and her new collar has not been photographed, either!  Must get on it!

It's raining here today. I was going to go to the gym at lunch but just didn't feel like dealing with it, so I spent a little time on the treadmill here. Not much of a workout but it beat sitting on my rear.

I was watching a ustream video of a King Cavalier who delivered her puppies yesterday. They've got one sold but are offering the rest for $1500. Wowzer. Maybe I'm out of touch with what a purebreed puppy costs, but that seems outrageous to me.

I haven't seen Julie in a few days but thought she'd love to see these aussie puppies. OMG, they're adorable little bundles of fur.

I hear ya... maybe the ACO could join you, too!!  Hooray!  It's a PARTY!  Or something uglier.  I'm sorry.  You sound so dejected (understandably)...  Handing over Cadbury Mini Eggs... laced with arsenic for the STBX to consume??  Wait, let's keep the chocolate safe for you to consume, and I'll send over some *potentially* salmonella-contaminated pepper!  (our latest recall at work)

Dejected...yea that's probably a fairly good word for how I feel.  But I think Cadbury may be just the cure.  And the address to send the pepper is.....lol, well its a fun thought anyway.

I'm tired, I haven't really slept good, except for 1 night in the past, almost 2 weeks.  I think I'll take my mini eggs and a nap.  Wild Friday night for me :-/

At least it is Friday though.  Yay for the weekend!

    Feel better, Little Kya!

Pirate just brought his super-special cookie from the bakery upstairs and buried it under my throw pillow on the bed. I wonder if that means it's SO GOOD he wants to save it, or if he doesn't really want it, but wants to hide it from his sister...hmm.

Hello all, good to hear about Charles, sad to hear that Steph is still fighting the rotten bast....ummm ex.

Just found out that my garden plots were moved at my request, long story short. I no longer felt comfortable being by myself in the back of the garden so I requested a move to a move visible location. The garden master, bless his heart, called me tonight to ask if I would be willing to be moved up near his plots, he also wants people around him he can trust. I could not say yes fast enough. I get to move, get better soil, and a master gardener for a neighbor. I might actually get a nice cold crop in this year.

Steph, a word of advice, do not give him the money until he signs the damn papers. And tell him you want proof.

Now, this morning my heart just about stopped. At a little over 5am there was a furious pounding on the next door neighbors door. It was the police and they were there to arrest said neighbor for battery. So once again he is sitting in jail and we are babysitting the dogs. I feel sorry for his mother, she needs to just let him go. He is 40 years old, can't hold a job, can hold his liqueur, has a record and has more visitors than is prudent. His mother has been paying his rent! Get a life, what a loser. Not sure when he will be home, he is there on a 10k CASH BOND...serious stuff. I would bring the girls over but not sure how Kord will deal with the girls in the house.

Off to find seeds for cold crops...............

It's absolutely pouring here and I'm so glad I don't have anywhere I really need to go.  For once I've got dinner covered so no last minute dashes to the store. I seriously wish I had remembered to tarp over the pile of firewood in the side yard but I didn't and it's soaked and I don't want to go out to the store to get a few artificial ones.  So ... no fire. Crying It's probably a *no burn* day anyway. If it lets up tomorrow I might do a Costco run.

I wish but I still have to make the drive home. I think I'll leave a little early. DH made a Costco run yesterday, so I have leftover pizza for dinner tonight. He was like a kid when I got home last night showing me all his greats "finds" from Costco. Did you know they now have Chex Muddy Buddies? Those might be just the ticket for dessert.

Gotta rant.  Yehaw, the hits just keep coming with this darned radio station.  First, there is a station owner, and a "concept owner".  DH is Director of Programming for the "concept owner" and paid by the station owner.  However the station owner filed bankruptcy the end of the month and didn't pay anyone.  The "concept owner" was supposed to take over for March, by which time, we could hopefully get a gig and get out of here, OR the guy who was interested in buying the station MIGHT, or the potential investor in the concept would invest.....today we got word that there will be no $$ until the end of March.  Uh, yeah.  Sure guys, that helps with stuff like the insurance, the car payment, the rent, water bill, etc, etc, etc.

Somedays I just freaking hate this business.

No school today with a teacher work day, so all day has felt like Saturday. that just makes for an even longer weekend. I do not like weekends when DH is away. We used to do all sorts of activities and projects together and now it's just blah. Course doesn't help being stuck in South Dakota and even though most of the snow has gone, the rain has arrived and lasts through april. Joy. Kids are doing well. Noah has been on Attend/Extress holistic adhd supplement and wheat/red 40 free diet now for a week. Had my parents over for GF lasagna (oooh so good, homemade, if I do say so myself!) and gf pumpkin loaf cake with brown sugar/nut topping. nom nom nom! My mom said Noah seems a lot more collected and "there" and he controlled himself at dinner, tried the lasagna (I have never made it for the kdis before). No issues. Super. I am holding my breath, so to speak, because maybe all this could be coincidence. He did have a 4 day school week, but in that time he was only in trouble ONCE, for hitting another student cmoing back in from recess. that was IT. and NO wet pants accidents! UNbelievably awesome change, and I'd like to think it's because the diet/supplement but could also be I've been reading/studying Love and Logic concepts at the moment and shocked at how they work! LOL. The uh-oh song is a riot and instead of kids staying mad, they come out of their rooms giggling. we are stuck inside again today, non stop rain, the ditches and gutters are like streams. Oh, and really, this past week has been nothing short of AWESOME and AMAZING by the way! not only did we figure out what was wrong with Noah, we also SOLD OUR HOUSE (and don't have to move until May, when we needed to leave anyway!) AND DH finally GOT HIS ORDERS to come home!! He's been gone now a year and 4 days! I still can feel the extreme emptiness and near hopelessness when he first left. It was like someone took away all the oxygen and couldn't breathe. About a month and a half to go now. !!!!

AND DH finally GOT HIS ORDERS to come home!!

I am so, so, so happy!! I know we don't 'know' you and your family personally but my ears always perk up when I hear something on the news about Bahrain and I always worry about your DH.

BF and I went on a romantic date to Publix. I don't know why I try to have fun with him in the grocery store...he's no fun at all! He vetoes all the good stuff like ice cream. I like a little ice cream at the end of the day. He's on some crazy health kick, with the working out and the dang protein powder and fruits and veggies. I hid my box of Pepridge Farm Snickerdoodles, so I know they are safe...

So glad that your dh is coming home soon! My massage therapist's dh just got back and the weeks leading up to it, she was over the moon. Of course now that he's been home for a couple months she's like "he needs to go get a job" LOL! I can't help but laugh and bite my tongue.

So I am sitting out in the woods. It is pitch dark and a little creepy! I'm hiding for a search dog who is taking their 40 acre night test. It will be a tough one as there is a horse stable and pasture (with horses) right near me. I just hope that I didn't over shoot the sector. It is so hard to count paces when you are walking through the dense woods at night.

Tomorrow neiko and I retake our level 1 test. If they give us this sector near the horses we are done for!

Btw, going to try and watch that aussie baby video! Thanks for thinking of me!

Uh oh I hear yelling. Hope the dog didn't go try to meet the horses!

I have to tell you, I paid more than that for Luke.
