    LOL but yeah, I understand.

Ummmm...here in California, we usually only have small, pretty bugs, so I've lived a sheltered life Wink. The short time I lived in Texas and Georgia was enough to convince me that I'm truly a big wuss.

    oh, bugs!

Sorry all, I have two cats that have been trained to "save momma from the bugs". They do a bang up job. It all started when I met my first influx of spider/camel crickets. I HATE those things and encouraged the serial murder and annihilation of all.

I've been bragging about it elsewhere, I might as well brag about it, here. I gave Shadow another deer bone today. He enjoys it immensely and it keeps him busy and now, he's resting. It was, I believe, a hip bone. Meat, tendon, some cartilege, and crunchy bone.

I know I didn't used to feed him raw or RMBs but I have seen him eat a cotton rat, live, with no ill effects. And I have cleaned the yard and found shed rat remains, ala a coyote or wolf. So, he's been getting raw on his own when some hapless small critter makes the fatal mistake of wandering into our yard. I haven't seen a rat or "field mouse" all winter.

Now, I'm about to grill some rib-eyes with mesquite grilling wood. And I'm going to chunk some foil-wrapped 'taters down in there, too.

I've been catching up on the tribulations of Jackie, thanks to Callie, doggie angel of the year (just to give Glenda a break from the title. Besides, when Glenda moved to the south, she brought the frigid north with her.Stick out tongue)

I've had a palmetto bug (which looks remarkably like a cockroach)

Listen, Paige, they can call those bi*%s 'palmetto bugs' all day long, IMO, if it looks luck a duck, quacks like a duck...well you know. They are cockroaches.

    Back to reading MC...

Sunshine went to her new home today! It is a trial 2 week adoption, but I think it is safe to say that she has found her forever home. She now lives in a large house (could prob fit 10 of my houses in it), in a very wealthy neighborhood with 3 kids, parents, a new aussie brother, a fenced in yard and an underground pool. she hit the jackpot. Total doggy rags to riches. I couldn't be happier!

I talked to them already tonight to see how things were going and it sounds like everything is good. She is mellower than they expected but she will perk up once she gets used to things. She's not a high energy dog though so I hope that will be ok. Their current aussie is crazy hyper. We'll see. They said that they would email me tomorrow to let me know how the first night goes.

This weekend has been way too busy. I have zero clean clothes for next week. Ugh

OK, so I finished reading now. Stacey, I hope your FH is better soon. And I can't wait to see Baby Sonja!! My fingers are crossed for Jano for a safe, smooth delivery.

Hi Ron!! Bike Week is wrapping up tonight and I've been thinking about you and your hairy legs LOL. It's sad, most of the businesses are reporting that it's been the least profitable Bike Week ever - the weather was bad and a lot of them camp out, so I think a bunch went home early.

Lucky us, though, now Spring Break is upon us. Yay (not)

Tonight, over dinner, BF tried to convince me that he should be on the SWAT task force. I put my foot down.

Julie - I know you must be thrilled at Sunshine's new life but I know it must be a bit sad not to have her with you. You're awesome for taking such good care of her all this time and finding her such a fabulous home. Do you think she'd invite you and the crew over for a BBQ and some swimming ;)

Ron - seems like a million years since I've seen a post from you. I hope it's because life has been busy in a good way.

Ack, good knee vibes for Stacey's FH, Bugsy, & Patrick!

I got a lot done today before DH & the kids got home.  I actually feel like I can go to work tomorrow, & not think about all of the stuff that I didn't get done over the weekend.  It's a very nice feeling.

DH has suddenly decided that he wants a tattoo, which is fine by me, but now he's obsessing over what he wants & how he wants it done.  He's going to drive me nuts with this.

Hiking was a blast - I'll post a few pics from the summit in a minute. Smile

No word on our offer and it expired at 8pm, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Good vibes to all who need them.  And loooooots of safe, happy delivery vibes for Jano and Sonja!

    • Gold Top Dog

Thanks for the good vibes everyone! They are much appreciated. I'm excited, nervous, and in denial. LOL. Wait, what? I'm going to have a baby tomorrow?!

I sure hope Willa sleeps tonight. She's been such a turd lately. Hitting the terrible twos a few weeks early. Storm

I don't have a cell with internet access or a laptop, so I probably won't be able to post until later this week. Maybe I'll be able to get down to the hospital library and use the computer there. Karen, I gave DH your email address. Hopefully he'll have time/energy to get some photos sent out before I get out of the hospital. Then you can post them here if you don't mind. Smile

I probably won't have time to check in tomorrow, so I'm signing off for now!

LOL...I had a heated discussion with a friend over this once.  I tried telling her "palmetto bugs" and "water bugs" are simply terms people created who were too creeped out to call them what they are...cockroaches.  I ended up having to have her talk on the phone to my BFF's mom (an exterminator) before she'd believe me!

I almost stepped on a big a$$ roach in the shower one morning, not long after we bought our house.  The exterminator was called that day and has visited our house every other month since.  I cannot deal with roaches.  *shudder*

Sending healed knee vibes to all pups and people who need them.

Janice, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!  I hope everything goes smoothly for you and little Sonja.  Smile

    Good luck jan!

Good luck, Jan!!!  I'm glad I saw this because no one tells me anything!   Happy baby day tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

I could do really, REALLY bad things to Keanu Reeves.  That is all.
